Default 5 Biggest Dissapointments of 2002

1.) Scott Hall : When he, Hogan and Nash debuted, Hall was clearly the best wrestler of the bunch. Hogan was too old to put on a good match, and Nash has never been that good period. Hall was the only one who put on great showings with Steve Austin and The Rock. However, after falling back on old demons during a trip to England, Hall was sent packing, and the WWE was spoiled of one of the most charismatic performers in the biz, and Hall's departure quite possibly drove the final stake in the nWo storyline.

2.) Linda Miles and Jackie Gayda : The two Tough Enough champions did ANYTHING BUT live up to their billing. They sucked off the bat, and Gayda put on one of the worst matches in WWE history with Trish Stratus. So bad, the WWE sent them back to OVW, which they'll remain for a loooooooooong time.

3.) Rob Van Dam : Sure, he may have great acrobatic skills, but what else is there? He's a stiff worker, and his mike skills are the very worst the WWE has. 2002 was not his best year, and 2003 probably won't be either unless he works on his vocal chords.

4.) Lance Storm : It first looked as if he would be recieving a huge push during the summer with the "Un-Americans" storyline. Then, all of a sudden (just like the nWo), the stable was killed off without any kind of major match or storyline. Storm's push was dead, and now he is elegated to a mid-card tag team with William Regal. Such a shame about what COULD'VE been a great year for Storm. Although I must say, his red undies sure are purty.

5.) Jeff Hardy : It looked as if he was the shining star of the Hardy Boyz. He was the one who was billed as "the next HBK" and he was the one who highlighted matches against guys like HHH, Kurt Angle and the Undertaker. But then, what the hell happened? Some say Jeff lost his passion for the buisness. But no one can deny, he just doesn't care as much as he used to. Every night he comes out looking like a retard and acting like a heroin addict. His in-ring work isn't half of what it used to be, and it looks as if poor Jeff is simply just a wreck, while brother Matt is on the other show, recieving the biggest push of his career. Tsk, tsk, Jeffery. Even your little swanton isn't going to save your career anymore, unless you put the fucking needle down.

By the way, Goldberg comes in at number six. Where the hell was this guy all year?

In my opinion the five biggest dissapointments in 2002 are:

Brand extention: There was a slight possibility this might've worked but it was just poorly done.

Mis-use of SCSA: Weather you like him or not he has been misused in many ways this year. I mean at Wrestlemania X8 he was pretty much written as a mid-carder and SC vs. Eddie Guerrero at KotR? WTF?

and.... everything M-Mac just mentioned.

If he had any balls and respect for the wrestling business he would just show up for 4-6 months just like The Ultimate Warrior did to boost ratings win some titles and leave....but he only wants appear on T.V. only and wrestling in PPV's only in his little 5 minute crush matches and still get paid 2 million dollars a year...fuck him he can sit in Japan with Taka, Chyna and all those other wash up has-beens....

Like I said before in the PW.com posts once Brock Turns face The WWE doesn't need Goldberg....

Bad Magick, just so you know, the Stone Cold/Eddie Guerrero feud was Austin's idea. He wanted a feud with Guerrero, because he viewed Guerrero as the best worker on the RAW brand.

I know that was his idea but it was a desperate move on his behalf plus let's face it, that fued was dissapointing and that's what this whole thread is about.

It had potential, and the feud was only dissapointing because Austin didn't stick around to finish it.

1) HHH - The Game has returned from injury as an immobile roided-up freak and his workrate has suffered.
2) Crash Holly - The Houdini of Hardcore has failed to live up to his success of the past.
3) Jackie Gayda - 'Nuff said
4) Mark Henry - Even a victory at the Arnold Competition couldn't win him the adoration of fans.
5) D'Lo Brown - A man without a place.

1.) The nWo.....Much has been said of the nWo....It would have failed anyways.... The fact Hogan turned face....Hall left.... Nash was injured...It was just not to be...The fact is WWF let it fail....Through inferior storylines that destroyed the nWo's credibility....Had played right....It would have been the success of 2002.....

2.) The Brand Extension....This is not about whether it should stop.... The fact is it was not the success the WWF had hoped for....It was supposed to allow for talent to showcase...Yet we had gapped storylines....HHH and Lesnar destroying a roster full of talent for credibility....

3.) Stone Cold.....One of the preminent figures of the Attitude Era....Steve Austin's character had begun to twindle... A failed heel turn with the Alliance...And so on...Stone Cold decided to leave the WWF....His departure hurt the company

4.) The Rock....Made an empassioning speech in regards to Austin leaving...You're either with the WWF or get the "F" out....Yet he soon leaves to conquer Hollywood....His non-presence hurt the company.....

5.) The Writers....Take a stroll through memory lane....The Monday Night Wars....The pinnacle of wrestling in the 90's....WWF....WCW....ECW....Stars.... Steve Austin...Rock... Hogan...RVD.... Nash...The Giant....Who would have ever thought these men would EVER be in the same company....Fast forward...Vince has seemingly bought WCW....Unfortunately the big stars don't come to the dance....Yet WWF has a pot load of untapped talent.... Fantasy Feuds many though never possible....Have come to fruition....Yet what could have seemed so simple.... Turned into a disaster....The Invasion.... The nWo....Flair.....Bischoff returning....They are all but faded memories....Memories that could have been much more....

RAW booking in general: nWo bust, Necropheliac angle, HLA, not a good year for the RAW brand.

I can agree with most of that.

However again, like stated above, in no particular order, add:

Stone Cold leaving, and justifiably so. Who would want to be a jobber to midcarders after you built the current WWE up from near extinction?

The end of several tag teams and factions that the fans really liked. Edge & Christian, The Dudleys, Matt and Jeff, Palumbo and O'Haire, nWo, just to name a few. None of the above mentioned teams made it as individuals.

The cruiser weight division. What a joke. I can name about two wrestlers that anyone likes. Mysterio, and ???? ok, so I can name one.

The elimination and downfall of the I.C. title. It used to mean something. It meant you were one step away from really making it. You were basically the #1 Contender. Now they have a fucking #1 Contender match every fucking week.

The Women's title. How many times did Trish and Molly wrestle on t.v. and on ppv's this year? For a while it seemed they had only two women in this division.

I am also sick of the lesbian, and gay overtones. What kind of writers does Vince have now days? Only people who got fired from Hustler's Letters? I don't care if two wrestlers want to fuck each other up the ass or rub clits, and I don't want to hear about it. I don't like love stories, especially same sex love stories. They have shows about that during the daytime, called Soaps.

Again, I have preached this for several months, Brand extention. Every since the wCw invasion, they have tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried to rehash the same lame assed idea, and it still sucks.

Goldberg is a disapointement to himself and to wrestling. If he is so badass, then where the fuck is he? Japan? Wow. Not to mention the months after months after months of reports how they are SOOOOOO close to a deal.

The endless introduction of pathetic, no charisma 'talent' that does nothing but job to other jobbers. and the releases of wrestlers that the people really wanted to see, I don't understand why they sign people like Shannon Moore, Benjamin Whatever the fuck, and release wrestlers like Scott Hall?

"I agree. I'll make the announcement now. Congragulations on your victory. You truly are the best the Warzone has had in a while. Here is your new custom banner to signify the bitches you've gone through in the past month. Please post it in your sig. It's my honor to hand it to you." -------Marbles

5: nWo Poison: Poison? Bullshit. It had the oppurtunity to be the WWE's shining moment of 2002, but as usual, Vince fucked it up. Pioson. Ha!

4: Break Up Of Great Teams: They broke up the Dudleys, Hardys, and E&C. WTF?!

3: Re-used Gimmiks: The nWo was the worst. Look on my #5, and youl see what I feel about this. i'm still waiting for the moment when someone comes from the rafters.

2: Getting rid of good ideas. The IC Title. Survivor Matches. Actual Wrestling. Where does the madness end?

1: Not following with new good idea: When the WWE did have good ideas, they fucked them up. Ex: Austin/Gurerro, RVD/HBK,
Brock/Batista. Damn them!
