Question Steve Williams to NWA-TNA?

If for some reason *cough EGO cough* the WWE were to let Austin out of his contract and he joined NWA-TNA, do you think their ratings would increase dramatically? Could they even give WWE a run for their money?
Currently, their so-called main-eventers suck (the X-Division is the true star of the show) so Steverino could be just what they need to add some life to the show.
I personally don't like him, but I know alot of you 'Stone Cold' fans would tune in.
What are your thoughts? Also, should he try a new gimmick?

I still say that given enough time...Austin will be back in the WWE.
If he goes to TNA....unless they sign him long term.....they'd just be accelerating his route back to the WWE, especially if he works out with TNA.

Of course it would boost their ratings. Austin is still a major player. But he'd have to sign by the end of this year.

Anytime next year and the wrestling fans night have moved on.

i like austin, but i think his charactor was getting old, so if he came back (to either WWE or NWA-TNA) he would have to do something different to help boost the ratings

I think, although I stress THINK, that the WWE holds the rights to his "character" although you can not copyright a look, and an attitude. I would watch Stone Cold Steve Austin, I would not watch Stunning Steve Austin. I also do not think that with ALL the N.W.A.'s resources, they do not have enough television money or advertising money to pull off someone like Steve Austin. Scott Hall, Shamrock etc. is one thing, they will always be midcarders in the WWE, but never main eventers. You will never sell 68,000 tickets to a show who's top performers are Shamrock and Hall, or Steiner. Most importantly, it would take another person like Ted Turner to have the funds to back and put N.W.A. back on the airways nationally. The only person with that much pull would be Bill Gates or Disney, and you know how that would turn out. Who the hell would watch wrestling with all faces and a "Mighty Ducks" theme? That would truely be "Mickey Mouse"...

Although I have seen Steve Williams wrestle personally at the Dallas Sportatorium for $50-100 a match, once you are on WWE and WCW as a headliner, you don't go back to "Best of Backyard Wrestling"

You guys don't know how Vinnie reacts to rejection do you? He hates it, he is a vindictive bastard, he will not, not let Austin go to any other fed. It'd be great to have him in TWA (is that their name?) but if Austin was there it would likely be enough to get them a TV deal. Vinnie will not let it happen.

Austin could reinvent himself easily where ever he is and he'd be over. He is definitely the best actor in wrestling save maybe Vinnie himself.

Psycho is right.

The WWE owns the rights to the name "Stone Cold Steve Austin". That's why he'll fail if he tries NWA-TNA. Without the gimmick, Steve Williams is nothing. Even if they give him a similar gimmick it will just look like they are ripping off his old character. There's always a chance they could find another kickass gimmick for him but that's doubtful.

I heard Steve Willams was going to hell. But he deserves to get paid ten bucks a show. i would have never left if I got what he was getting.

You guys ought to lay off the crack. Austin doesn't need the WWE, they need him. He's sitting at home laughing his ass off at the crap ratings and stock performance of the WWE. The last time the WWE did well it was when he was around! Remember Steph singing wind beneath my winds with Steve's head bouncing around? Damn that was hilarious! Now Cripple H the lame game has one show Undertaker has the other as that way they can more effectively wreak both show's main events! WWE needs Austin not the otherway around. Anyone who disagrees ought to give it some thought.

Default lsten to rockrules......He speaks the truth

and very direct..The WWE does need Austin worse then he needs them...As to the NWA-TWA deal forget it. As long as Vince has control over Austin's contract Austin will never go to any Indy...He would tie him up in court so bad right up till the final day of Austins contract expired..

I think it would be great if Austin joined the NWA TNA. The company needs somebody that's marketable. I also think that Austin should go back to his kick-ass Hellraiser gimmick which he lost at Wrestlemania 17.

From what I've heard..Austin is wrestling in Canada for the indies. One of my friends went to Canada during the summer time and saw Austin at an indy show.Austin said he wasnt coming back to the WWE anytime soon.
I dont know if that's true but that is what one of my friends told me.
I would love to see Austin back...I'm a huge Austin mark.
