Default Jericho catches the Kennedy Curse...

Quote:
- At Friday night's WWE house show in Cape Girardeau, MO Chris Jericho seemed to get injured. Jericho went for the Lionsault but Mr. Kennedy was too far away and Y2J landed awkwardly on his head. The referee tossed up the X sign with his hands a few times but Jericho was able to get back up and lock on a very poor Walls of Jericho for the win. Following the match several trainers came out and helped him to the back.

Jericho did compete at last night's event in Louisville, KY so he seems to be fine. Those in attendance in MO though, said it was a very scary situation and it seems as if Y2J is very lucky he wasn't majorly injured.

Just kiddding. I'm not a fan of Jericho, but I really think he needs to stop doing the lion sault. It's been plenty times I've watched him execute the move awkwardly, and it makes me cringe. I remember my favorite puro wrestler (pre-Kobashi) Hayabusa broke his neck, and it was sickening the way he landed. I've seen Jericho barely miss that same result countless times. I think he just needs to AXE the move, his current character doesn't really need it, and it hasn't been a effective finisher in years. I don't want too see the guy crippled, no matter how much I hate him.

I think one time he went for it and broke the fucking rope or something. Nothing can ever top Lesnar landing on his face. That was all kinds of horrible.

It's simply a moonsault from the second rope, and Jericho's been using it for well over a decade. Is it dangerous? Yeah, probably, but wrestling has never been completely safe, those guys risk their well being every single time they step into a ring. Mistakes happen. Personally, I don't think the move is worth getting rid of.

The move is silly, and a moonsault from the second rope is night as easy as you think. He doesn't need the move anymore, he can save it for special o0ccasions like Taker's tope. He's over enough, that he really doesn't need it, wrestlers are at risk every time they step in the ring, this is true, they can cut down some of the risk by not doing meaninless flips, that really serve no purpose in the match, but to pop the crowd. Jericho is getting old, and his character isn't like it was 10 years ago, he can cut out the lionsault and won't miss a beat. The move is awkward looking anyway, and it exposes his age.

It looks horrible. I absolutely hate it.

As for the Lionsault I have always liked it and it looks better than the Codebreaker. Sure, it's risky but so is everything else in a wrestling ring. It's an exaggerated risk with what can happen when botched but Goldberg proved even a Mafia Kick could prove dangerous.

All in all i'm with Truth on this one. It should be used sparingly because it is dangerous but also popular so using every so often on a PPV cold pop crowds bigger than every Monday night on RAW.

The Codebreaker got over like a fart in church, that night. The ones he hit on Umanga and JBL at NWO were pretty good.
