Default The crowd

Yeah so I was watching WM 22 last night that I had recorded, and you know the atmosphere and everything was just better than this year. Every match seemed worth it. Plus the crowd was so into that card. When they turned on Cena and cheered everything HHH did, and then the first DX chop that crowd was going nuts.

This year the crowd just seemed to be dead for everything. Don't get me wrong Mania this year wasn't that stellar of a card but every match the crowd just didn't seem to be into the show.

So how important is the crowd? In Chicago they were fucking nuts, and it showed, In Detroit not so much. I think that the crowd helps people at home get into the matches. I know this card sucked, but for crying out loud it is still Mania, and those people paid to get into the PPV, so why shoudn't they react more. Hell even booing or this Sucks chants would have worked, instead they all just sat there.

Detriot should not host any more PPVs.

I don't think its the fact that Detroit shouldn't host anymore PPVs (because personally, I think that designation should belong to Toronto). You've got the All State Arena and Ford Field. One WM had 20,000, one had 80,000. I think its just a combination of some fans not being able to see maybe and the fact that the arena is so large, the sound just dissipated.

Detroit fans don't know how to chear in that stadium. They're used to just sitting there. It's not their fault really, but that's how it goes in Detroit

lol, it's very sad, but very true...and i noticed this about mania too, the crowd didn't get into anything, even really the MITB as much as I thought they should...the only thing good about mania 23 is that they had some kick ass entrances.

I don't know that dude in the neon green jacket and his wife seemed into everything. Favorite part of wrestlemania.

I think it's just that this year's WM wasn't all that great. Usually Detroit gives the WWE one of their better crowds.

However Ford Field may have had some responsibility. Hold it at the Joe or the Palace, and that crowd could've gone nuckin futs.

Detroit has hosted only 2 WrestleManias, and have a combined attendance of over 170,000. Pretty impressive in my opinion.

Its the large arena taking out alot of the noise pretty much. Then a few really shit matches and alot of not so good build up to the main events which let it down a bit as well crowd wise. But I don't think they were as bad as it came across on TV.

The flouro couple in the front i so wanted to see them get flattened by a wrestler.

But the crowd was my main gripe with the ppv when i finally got a chance to sit down and watch.

I actually thought WM was ok. Centainly not the suckfest it has been made out to be and i felt the crowds zero reaction to the ECW originals vs new breed match was shitty because that match was a lot better than the reaction it got.

How funny was it that the womans match got zero pop until all the bitches got fighting in the ring at the end.

But im all for WM being held in huge arenas...even if it means the untertakers entrance drags out to 5 minutes and 35 seconds.
It just looks fucking awesome in front of so many

But both times was held in football stadiums with huge ammounts of people.

BTW I'm still all for WM being held in Michigan Stadium. They'd get 150,000 people in there.
