The 1/30 edition of ECW on Sci Fi drew a final 1.7 cable rating, way up from last week's 1.5 rating and above the "average" the show has been doing in the last few months.

The show, which featured an appearance by Vince McMahon and a Royal Rumble Rematch between Bobby Lashley and Test for the ECW Title, was looked at as a big show considering the last 30 minutes of ECW was going head-to-head with the debut of Wrestling Society X on MTV (which did an impressive 1.0 cable rating going against WWE programming).

i'm fairly certain most of us weren't tuning in for test/lashley. in fact, i fell asleep during the match.

Vince is god. Didn't get a chance to watch that mtv "wrestling" show though didn't get it in canada.

i'm not sure which writer finally realized that ecw can't stand on its own 2 legs as a completely separate entity, at least not as wwecw, and probably not as ecw alone either, but the balls squash on raw and the vince vs ecw originals angle definitely is exactly what they need, imho.

I actually predicted WSX hurting ECW's ratings.

They got X-Pac..

i thought it said they went up for ecw...
