Default Johnny Nitro

I don't think I like Nitro.

I know a lot of you are fans of Nitro, and don't get me wrong I was too, but now I'm not so sure. I will tell you all why I don't care for him now.

First let me start by saying I thought he had a lot of potential when he was on Tough Enough. I mean the guy was skinner, clean cut, but man that running shooting star was badass. Hell now he looks totally different and we don't even see the moves that he probally could pull off.

So we get a glimpse of John on Monday Night Raw as Bischoff's assistant, where Eric renamed him Johnny Nitro. He really didn't do much there.

So he goes to OVW and him and Mercury begin teaming up and together with Melina that form MNM. They beat down the Dudley Boyz in OVW, knocking them out, and then it was time for them to come to the WWE. However, the Dudleys were gone, and I really didn't know if anything would go right for MNM.

I have to admit they came in and won the tag titles, and I loved the entrance. Mercury seemed like the better star of the team, and I would think without Melina this team would probally fall apart. So then Nitro and Melina come to Raw, breaking up a great tag team and we know what usually happens to tag teams after they break up. (before you all start, I know Mercury is in rehab, so don't start yelling about that.)

So on Raw he wins the IC title, and yeah him and Melina are making waves, mainly Melina carrying the voice work on the mic, with Nitro getting things done in the ring. However, I get the feeling that Melina is going to be bigger than Nitro. I mean the Foley angle, and now the entry into the Women's Championship Tourney. I have a feeling she wants to wrestle not just manage.

But enough about the past, let me tell you why I am losing interest in Nitro. It was about two weeks ago on Raw. Backstage Nitro and Melina are being asked if one of their celebrity fans would be coming to the ring with them. If they were going to shock us all. Melina talks about how they have tons of celebrity friends and that they have a huge surprise for the Raw crowd, and that everyone wants to know who they will introduce tonight.

Sidenote: For those of you under a rock it was K-fed, but that's not what made me lose interest in Nitro, although K-fed does suck some major ass.

So Melina talks, not a really good promo, but really how good can you make K-fed being a surprise sound. So they give the mic to Nitro. This is when I lost interest and realize that Nitro sucks.

With the mic, and in a high sounding voice, I might dare to say he sounded almost gay, the only thing he can say very slowly is "Every..body..wants..to...know"

That's it, WTF, he gets mic time and all he can say is that? So I started thinking without Melina, this guy is screwed on the mic. Not to mention that the character is cool, but not the same without Mercury and Melina. So should Melina turn on Nitro or leave him, or dare say get hurt and miss time on TV, Nitro's character is going to be in the toilet. So yeah, I don't care for him anymore. The guy just poses and really his wrestling has diminished since he put on the muscle. I mean he is still decent, but I don't think he is fully at the potential he could possibly be at.

To close, Nitro I hope that it was you that came up with the idea to give that shitty statement you made a few weeks on Raw, because if this is the best Creative can come up with, they should all be fired.

Thoughts on Nitro's Present and Future?

I think that he can improve on the mic...he just needs for coaching on it..b/c IMO..his ring skills are solid...he just needs some coaching on his mic work.

i think he could possibly be the worst mic worker in the wwe.

i like him in-ring and my dislike for him otherwise is actually a tribute to him in playing a good heel...

but i cant see him in his current gimmick moving up at all

He will stay as a good mid carder with his current gimmick. His mike work blows fat chunks of arse but his in ring ability still kicks arse IMO. I think he could work on his mike work though I mean there are glimpses of vague potential and the WWE to their credit are trying to give him more mike time and help him out. He just needs some good mike training to complement his in ring skills and I reckon he could be a big player in a few years.

I think we can only really tell how much he will be sucessful once Melina leaves him though cos she is obviously carrying him a fair bit as she is one of the best managers the WWE has atm.

DC, I am surprised, I thought you wanted wrestling more than the sweat opera we get now. All the mic skills he needs come from the manager. Can anybody remember the legendary mic work of Bob Backlund? Perhaps that is why he had Skaaland. If not for the mic skills, why have a manager?

He's better suited as a tag wrestler seeing as he's dropped off quite a bit since splitting with Mercury and leaving SmackDown. I'm really not that impressed with him anymore and Melina's entrance used to be great, now Johnny's retarded ass blocks the money shot like a fuckin jackass.

Oh yeah, and he fucking sucks on the mic. Melina has seemed about average recently as well.

I don't feel any of that. I'm down with Nitro.

And even if you're not down with Nitro...if you're realistic then you've gotta admit he's still better than Carlito...

Late.

He doesn't need the strap back whatever I think of him. Hardy needs a bit more of a push with the strap. Then Shelton needs a reign then possibly back to Nitro.

Could you give reasons how and why?

In my opinion Carlito is a far better wrestler, entertainer, mic worker, ring worker and story teller than Nitro will ever be. Plus Carlito doesn't need some whacked up bitch to do his talking for him.

My whole point of this thread was basically to say that if Melina leaves Nitro he will no longer be noticed in the WWE, because his mic skills suck. I know Beniot has crappy mic skills and he became World Champ. But Nitro has not impressed me in the ring lately. I just don't see him being on that level if Melina ever should leave him.

No...Nitro is not better than Carlito...Carlito is far more entertaining and a better wrestler...now with that said, I can see Nitro being a major player in 2-3 years..b/c i see lots of potential in him.

Nitro has plenty of potential. Even though he is not executing his entire move list, he still puts on a good show. All he needs to do is work on his mic skills. His character is already top notch and I can see him carrying the heavyweight belt in a couple of years.

^ For sure I just don't think Nitro has reached his full potential yet and thats all it is.

As for Carlito he is plateuing as far as I'm concerned. Yes he is awesome on the mike but his in ring skills really aren't that fantastic if you think about it. I think alot of it could be giving him a decent storyline to work with though. Also puttiong him up over someone big would help a shitload.
