Default September 1998- March 1999.

Lets go back in time and discuss what I think was/is the best time period ever in the WWE/F .September 1998-March 1999. This period in the WWF/E, just brings back so many good memories and cemented/made the turn around for the WWF/E IMO, to victory over WCW. This was when it was really being noticed that the WWF/E was kicking WCW's ass.

2 of the greatest superstars ever in the WWE, held the WWF Championship for their first time and was pushed to being a superstar, in this period of time, The Austin/McMahon war was at it's height in this period of time, The Undertaker started the Ministry and we all saw an Undertaker like we've never seen before in this period of time. The rating's reached the 6.0 mark for the first time ever.

I will "break it down" for you...

-The Austin/McMahon war: One of, if not the greatest fued ever in the WWF/E IMHO. In the Sept to March period...Austin lost the belt, got arrested, got screwed over, got revenge in the most historical kind of ways, fought back to the top(he did this by defeating Taker in a Buried Alive match to get into the Royal Rumble, he then lost the Royal Rumble thanks to Rocky, he then defeated McMahon in a Steel Cage, to get his shot at the belt, and then finally won it after six long months of hell at WM15)...This was also the period, when Austin drove the zamboni machine(Sept) and beer truck(March)into the ring and gave the McMahons a beer bath. The fans were behind Austin 100% and cheered/loved him more than ever.

-Rock and Mankind BOTH became champions: Rock became WWF champion for the first time at Survivor Series and Mankind became champion for the first time on Raw in January. Both Mankind and Rocky are now legends in the WWE and this was the time period that started it all for them in the WWF. With Austin out of the way for the time being, the WWF gave us a Rock/Mankind championship fued, which was one of the greatest fueds ever. The champions reigns were short(Rock with 3 title reigns and Mankind with 2 title reigns) but the matches were great. We saw IMO the best "I Quit" match ever at the Royal Rumble and we saw a "Half Time Heat" match, which was awesome. It was all done so well...it didn't lead to a Triple Threat Match for the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania(like it would do today)..The fued got out of the way just in time for the Austin vs. Rock match.

-Ministry: Again IMO...one of the best stables ever in the WWE/F. We all saw a side of Taker we have never seen before. He mostly always played that "good guy" but now we all saw a satanic Taker, that wreaked havoc on the WWF superstars and McMahon himself. The Ministry also held 2 future Tag Team Champions...Edge and Christian and the APA in it. Every Raw, the creative team would come up with exciting but sometimes to fake, stuff for the Ministry.....like the sacrifice bullshit and the hanging of Bossman at Wrestlemania.

Those are just some of the highlights from the Sept-March period of time that I enjoyed. We also met Mr. Socko for the first time and Stephanie McMahon made her first appearance around that time. The storylines/matches were awesome and fresh and I would do anything to relive that again. The months after were awesome too but I think this period of time was more special then the rest of 1999.

Any thoughts?....and discuss what were you favorite moments in the WWF/E

I actually have a liking to 1994.

The Royal Rumble where both Luger and Hart are eliminated at the same time.

Wrestlemania 10 with two of the greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time...Ladder Match and Hart vs. Hart.

The whole Owen and Bret feud.

Nope, i agree with B.A.M.F 100%. The attitude era was so great it is unrepeatble.

Austin vs McMahon. The feud that changed wrestling forever and brought forward so many hilarious moments.
We saw superstars with much more freedom in the ring to cut promo's and do what they want.
We had a pornstar wrestler being portrayed as the good guy which brought even more hilarious segements
A Pimp superstar as face

In my opinionm you couldn't beat the attitude era ever. It is my favourite past time and always will. I miss the attitude era......badly.

I agree too. Attitude kicked serious ass. Austin/McMahon feud great, The Rock, Mankind, DX, Takers' Ministry, Arrival of The Big Red Machine KANE
and so much more. The attitude era in my view will always be king and nothing will ever compare from any company at any time.

Another thing from the attitude era knowone could beat was the "This is your life" segment with Foley and Rock. Just pure quality. No other words for it.

So many feuds that made things better. The Rock/Mankind, Austin/McMahon, Kane/Undertaker, New Age Outlaws/L.O.D. You cannot repeat those kindof things if you try.

Titles meant alot more back then aswell. If you held a title it meant you had worked hard to earn it and deserved it more than anyone. Now titles mean nothing and if you are getting over with Vince then you deserve a title. They just mean nothing.

Matches meant alot more then than they do now aswell. Normally matches on RAW or SD! were to further feuds. Now most matches have nothing to them and are purely used as filler.

Alot of superstars back in the day were grateful to be where they were as it felt like they had earned there spot on the roster. Now with things like the Diva Search and Tough Enough anyone who looks like they can do the job can get a job which defeats the purpose of earning your place.

You never had superstars back then refusing to job as often as they do now and superstars with bigger ego's than the whole company.

It's a disgrace that people like Foley and Shamrock had to sleep in car's and motels to get there big break but people like Orton automatically get a top spot on the roster and abuse it by smoking joint's backstage and whatnot.

It's a big reality check to see the men representing WWE compared to the days of WWF.
