Do you think in this period of time (97-01) that it was the best time for the WWE, storyline and wrestling wise and was it your favorite period of time in the WWE

it was the era When i Became a fan. i started Becoming a wrestling fan in 1999, and that was mainly due to the Storylines, the matches and the roster. and lately, everything done in the WWE is a Weaker Rehash of another Storyline Done Before, So Yeah, it was my favourite Era.

Thats when I really started watching WWE, I started watching wrestling with the birth of the NWO.

Was it the best storyline wise, in a ratings sense yes. This was when WWF started to overtake WCW and leave them in the dust. In a creative sense, partly. This era gave way to Austin/McMahon and DX, but we also got transvestites, porn stars, half naked women and other "non-family" storylines.

Wrestling wise, it was alright. With the WWF's direction to go to shock TV, the quality and match times took somewhat of a dip. I consider the mid to late 80s to be the best.

^Agreed.

That period of time was the best in terms of storylines, not wrestling. That was the WWE's best era in entertainment. Almost everything was new and creative and shocking.

The WWE will never see those highs again. They could approach it if they get some real "creative" writers working for them.

Sure...you can take a run at numbfuck SC or plainjane Josh or complete moron Alex or can't get out of his own way Boston...but I don't agree with you about Barry and it's "Rueben Droughns this" "weed that" "your kids this" "Look at me and my halo over my head that."

Whatever. First of all, you don't have any depth of knowledge about any of that stuff, so you're just talking out of your ass. Secondly, you wouldn't be saying any of that shit if Barry Bonds wasn't some roided up freak who you're in love with.

It's fucking gay. I have better things to do than deal with someone who can't even debate a point, rather changes the subject again and again to deflect the fact that he's dead wrong. It's what dumbass 6th graders do...

I honestly don't give a fuck about your opinion. Like I told Alex, they're just words on a screen. I can't believe you don't get that concept...but okay.

I mean...you're the kind of guy that thinks if you yell louder than the other person, you will win a debate. And that's not new either...I've pretty much thought that about you from day one...

I didn't want to put it that way, but since you want to press on...

Lame dude. Just lame. I have better shit to do. You probably should too...but I'm betting you don't...

Late.

i think that era was the best simply because the wwf had competition, which in turn gave them a reason to out do themselves every week .....

No, Becuase I wasn't watching WWF back then, i was a Full Hearted WCW Fan that and we never got any WWF Programming in Australia in the Mid 90's for a while. Ever when we did get WWF I still watched WCW and ignored WWF, so I really can't relate to what you people are talking about because I did experience the Attitude Era, Frankly I don't feel like I missed out on anything important....

yeah that era is by far their better days. They had wcw to compete with. The story lines were actually something new, it was like a big soap orera as it is now.

After all I was kinda forced into watching WWF since Vince Bought out WCW, Which in it's self was a ridicously stupid move, It gave people an Alternative besides the Shit their throwing together on SmackDown!, Hell Maybe he'd have the Velocity and Heat Regulars make up the mid Card Roster in WCW, Thus ending the Split.......

If only....

i've been watching the wwf ever since i was 4 years old and i am now 20 years old. and i love the attitude era. i never really did watch wcw. i must admit i was kind of a nwo fan. i have a few of their t-shirts. but i loved the era from 96-01 i thought it was great. but now it fucking sucks. i hate the wwe. it sounds so gay and it doesn't have any good storylines. i don't even watch it any more. at first i felt bad because i grew up with the wwf and i don't want to see what happened to wcw happen to them but if they don't change i am pretty sure it will. but there really isn't anything else good out there. just a quick question. does anyone know if they are ever going to put the old wwf events on dvd? like from 90-94 or 95?
