On WWE's corporate website, they posted a PDF file on the investors page with FAQ's. One of the questions mentioned was, "What was the reason for the brand extension?"

WWE answered with the following:

"The brand extension has enabled WWE to create two separate and distinct television shows that would provide the opportunity to develop and establish new WWE Superstars. The RAW and SmackDown! brands each have a touring company, thereby enabling us to increase the number of international live events yet lower the number of events at which each of our Superstars performs. Fewer events extend the careers of existing talent while provide more exposure to new talent. As well, there is the further opportunity to develop more pay-per-view events and distinctive consumer products. The company is considering increasing the number of pay-per-view events to 14 in fiscal 2005."

Two of those most prominently upset with The Cat are Rikishi and Scotty Too Hotty. Both feel that Cat basically stole their spot on TV, since there is only room for one dance act on the show. With Vince behind The Cat so much, they're basically in a bad position right now and are not too pleased with it.

In the newest issue of Smackdown! Magazine, in the ''Smacktalk'' section they talk about Lesnar possibly holding the title for a long period of time. Below is the exact paragraph:

A famous london casino constantly updates its betting lines, including WWE and its champions. Recently, the casino posted a line on which Superstar would hold the WWE Championship for the longest stretch in 2004. It posted Brock Lesnar as the 1-2 favorite. The casino's bookmaker told Smackdown! Magazine , ''Lesnar has been so thoroughly dominant in the past 18 months that we felt it would would be a losing proposition for us to install him as anything less than the clear-cut favorite. Although Smackdown! Superstars like Kurt Angle and John Cena are capable of defeating him, we have a difficult time seeing Lesnar without the title for an extended period of time.''

With Brock Lesnar's recent actions, one would think that this has to be true, but we'll just have to wait and see.

The feeling now is that Steve Austin won't work Wrestlemania XX. Austin has been considering the idea of returning for one more match, but he may simply work the show in the ''Raw Sheriff'' role that he's scheduled to begin upon his return. Eric Bischoff will still be the General Manager while Austin will counter him as ''The Sheriff.''

Triple H is expected to to be involved in a singles match that will likely involve the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania. There's said to be several names under consideration from both the Raw and Smackdown! crews, but Mick Foley isn't among the names being considered right now.

Several wrestlers are beginning to speak out openly about their disagreement and frustration with some of the wrestlers that are getting pushes by the WWE, namely Matt Morgan and Ernest Miller. While many in the locker room like Morgan, they don't feel he's ready as far as inring ability and is getting the push simply because of his size. Miller on the other hand isn't very popular backstage and is seen as a kissup to management and most top stars. McMahon has always been a fan of The Cat character and feels he can still make money for the company.

To update everyone on the Hulk Hogan/WrestleMania XX developments, while it is still possible it is very unlikely that he will be on hand for the PPV. Word from WWE offices indicate that nobody in a decision-making position believes that he would add to the buyrate or the show's quality. McMahon remains firm on centering his focus on wrestlers that will help him in the future and building with them rather than relying on the past for future success in one-time or limited appearances. This is different, however, than characters such as Foley and The Rock as they are recurring characters with the company. Reports also indicate that McMahon expects to decide on the main event soon but has not as of this report
================================
There is still talk in the Smackdown locker room about the near disasterous plane flight while in Russia during their recent tour. One wrestler was quoted saying there was "a calm peacefulness on the plane. Everyone was so introspective, we were all contemplating the ends of our lives. You could hear a pin drop. That's the closest we've all come t death before actually dying. I was 100% sure I was dead, and in Russia of all places."

With the Smackdown tapings recently taking place in San Diego, local resident Bill Goldberg stopped by to visit with some on the roster. Formerly of WCW and currenlty in NWA-TNA, Konnan was a guest of Rey Mysterio backstage.

Before the San Diego Smackdown tapings, Rey Mysterio had several from the Smackdown roster over to his house for a cookout.
