Dustin Runnels, aka Goldust, has now officialy been released from World Wrestling Entertainment.
Dustin's contract with WWE was set to expire in January 2004, however he was granted an early release from the company. Runnels is now expected to work for ZERO-ONE in Japan next year. He's also looking for bookings on the independent scene.

The following press release was sent out by Northeast Wrestling, which handles bookings for him:

The "Lonestar" Dustin Rhodes is a available for appearances, wrestling seminars and indy wrestling shows. The former Goldust in the WWE is a former Intercontinental and World Tag Team Champion. He is available and looks forward to the possibility of working as a tag team with his father Dusty Rhodes.

Northeast Wrestling is the exclusive booking agent for Dustin Rhodes, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Dusty Rhodes, Al Snow, "The Coach" Jonathon Coachman and Barry Windham.

They should have him do one last match before he left, but the wwe didn't do it, Im a little mad at the wwe for doing that but what can you do

Sadly enough he'll end up in NWA TNA and waste yet another young talents spot on the roster. I just wish this guy would disappear already.

Dusty is TNA, goldy isn't yet. He could easily end up in Japan which i'm sure he will.

I think if any puro fed takes dustin runnels it'll be new japan. Zero One only takes american stars like low ki, amazing red, steve corino, christopher daniels. Runnels isn't in that league and unless they use him to put over all the MUCH BETTER talent in TNA then he is, I don't see him with much of a future anywhere else. Sadly though, daddy rhodes will use his stroke to make sure dustin gets put over everyone.

I've always like him. WWE canning him was shocking to me becasue he was really over with the crowds. But I guess it probably has more to do with his pay-check than anything. Hope he finds sucess elsewhere.

they were probably running out of ideas for the guy, hes not as hot in the ring as he used to be, plus the goldust character has often gotten wwe lots of heat in the past.
