Angry The brand extension isn't necessary

If the WWE cuts out all the crap, like backstage segments, and a 15 minute in ring promo every half hour, then we could get back to the basics - wrestling! That way everyone would be able to compete...I mean, c'mon, it's a 2 hour show!

But for the number of wrestlers....They would need storylines to go along wit them and that is why backstage segments happen

I have a tough time buying that considering the fact that they went 50 years without any backstage segements and let the ring work tell the story. When the interviews out weigh the ring time, you've got a problem.

I agree ggazoo,
If we didn't have to listen to the Rock for 10 minutes and watch a soap opera while trying to see someone wrestle then they would be able to fit more wrestling. I hate the backstage seagments, what ever happend to the interview in out where the fans where. I was watching the NWA ppv tonite and things went so much smoother with only one backstage seagment. Its not neassary to know what Bradshaw is doing in the back, who the fuck cares, less talking more action thats why i watched wrestling and now its seems to be the opp.

Actually, I didn't use to think that the backstage skits were all that bad...but I agree they do suck now!

Nore did i when WCW first started doing them i thought it was cool that we could see what the NWO was doing backstage, but they were doing the backstage skits for like 30 sec's right before a commercial break so that it made you not want to turn the channel.

WWE has made it into the Young and the Restless

I think that the brand-extension is a good idea. Even with promo's and backstage segments cut, it would probably mean longer matches for main-eventer's. WWE should just keep what they have going.

The brand extention is 100% needed, as it is basically a reason for certain wrestlers not to be on certain shows. Without it, the same 3/4 guys would be main-eventing twice a week and guys like Benoit, RVD, Jeff Hardy, Booker T, and Edge would have no chance of ever getting a main-event push.

Canning the brand extension would probably make WWE better in the short term, byt Vince is simply adapting his company to the new enviroment he finds it in. With no real competion WWE faces an overflow of talent with too many people taking up main-event spots, but the brand extension allows them to keep half the roster away from each show, and frees up spots to push the up and coming talent.

Without this the WWE would be left with no new talent in position to take over in the way Austin, Rock, HHH, and Foley took over a few years ago, and the company would be sunk forever. The brand extension is an investment in the future of WWE, as it allows the young stars of tomorrow such as Batista, Cena, Orten and the people I've already mentioned the chance to get on TV in view to a future push, it may limit the feuds but that's the point, it forces them to elevate new talent rather than rely on the same few guys to main-event the ppvs.

I applaud WWE for the roster split, they could have tried increasing the ratings by filling each show with main-eventers only and spiked the ratings for a while, but instead they are allowing new talent to develop, now if only they could fix the tag division........

yes it is necessary.

it creates more suspense with stories, allows them to double their house shows, and gives less experienced gys more tv time.

guys like chris harvard cannot blossom into main eventers with some top level tv experience.

Thumbs up

i actually like the brand extension thing..... i mean, YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE FOLLOWING WEEK!! its more like the old skool!! 4 shows a month (4 raw shows..... 4 smackdown shows) different storylines in each show...... if you miss a show, YOUR BUGGEREDD!

gripping stuff i think

You only see Brock and half the veterans twice a week cause they are all just gonna follow him for a title shot.
