Default Off-Air Notes From RAW: Rock-A-Roonie, Nash/Orton

Disappointing; more
Story By: Daniel Edler
June 03, 2003

Thanks to readers James and Brian for sending in the following accounts of what happened Off-Air at RAW last night:

After Raw ended pretty much everyone in the main event were talking trash to each other with "Evolution" exiting the ring area and Hurricane, Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash staying and slapping everyone's hands. Finally, Lillian Garcia (who is as beautiful and nice as she is on TV) as she gave us some love for coming to the show.

======

Here's what happened during the breaks and other observations.... The crowd reaction to the Flair/HBK confrontation was awesome, the arena ate it up. After the Steiner match, all that happened during the break was Stacy continuing to look sad and both walked off to an ovation. The Highlight Reel segment was awesome in person with Rock acting like a face, although he yelled at the crowd. After the "Rock-a-roonie," Book and Rock embraced, and Rock went up the ramp to salute the crowd at each end of the stage and talked with JR. During most breaks, Lillian Garcia took pictures with fans, which was great for those around ringside. After the Austin/Kane segment, Austin continued yelling at Kane before heading to the back, and then Kane walked off. During the break of the tag match, Jericho and Christian had the advantage throughout. The main event was just bad, no reaction for Orton... what ruined it was the ending, it was going fine, but as soon as "Big Lazy" tagged in, it seemed the energy from the arena was sucked out. From there it was really confusing, at one point it looked like everybody was on the mat looking for something to do. After Raw, the 3 faces just talked for 5 minutes and posed...end show. Most of the arena was full, black tarp covered the top deck camera side but there were some people sitting along the front of the top deck.

I think this Stone Cold/Kane angle is interesting.
