Default Torre Signs With Dodgers, Girardi On Board With Yankees

Girardi got announced on MLB, and I got a rather mournful text from SC telling me about Torre.

They both did really well. I'm kinda annoyed that Torre is going to be taking over an underachieving team in the NL West while my Giants are rebuilding.

I heard that Don Mattingly will end up being one of LA's coaches.

What i'm wondering in the back of my head is "would A-Rod come to the Dodgers if Torre and Don were already there?"

They have the money from what I can remember, an open spot at 3B or even SS if need be (Really, fuck Furcal), be in California and of course, still have that "Yankees home feel" with two of the coaches.

Gut feeling it may be but don't be surprised to see A-Rod end up a Dodger.

Guys...guys...before you go running for the razors...please remember that as a manager, Joe Torre's managed a few teams in MLB...and the only one he was any good at all managing was the Yankees.

I'm not saying he won't be a great manager for that LA ballclub, but let's not hand the Dodgers the 2008 World Series just yet.

It's okay. It's okay.

BTW...how do the Giants let Barry walk?? Maybe some of our Friscanites can shed some light on that for the rest of us.

Late.

If you or someone you know has been caused grief by an "Internet Bully" then you and/or that person is nothing but a little punk ass bitch, and the world would be a better, more manly place if you'd just jump off a fucking bridge already. If you watched him perform (or really NOT perform) it was an easy decision.

He was just plain lazy. He would let balls roll by him or go right over his head without a second thought. He wasn't playing like someone making sixteen million dollars.

Not to mention that he is a CANCER to any clubhouse. He's a prima-donna that the management was sick of having around.

Good riddance.

No chance.

A-Rod wants a ten year contract, and chances are that by the end of that run he's going to want to DH. He's also said that he wants to finish his career with the next team he is on. Plus he's obviously going to be able to veto any trades, and his salary will likely make him untradeable anyway.

If he went to ANY NL team I would be stunned.

I figured Torre would sit out this upcoming year and make a return in '09. Thought he might reunite with Mel Stottlemyre in Seattle. Girardi was a smart choice by the Yankees. He had success with the Marlins and he's got some fire in him. Mattingly was too inexperienced to handle the job.

Girardi has immense talent.

They're going to be great next year -- A-Rod or not.
