Schefter (and most other places) are reporting that McCown is the starter.

I remember a few weeks ago they were talking how Culpepper is going to be comeback player of the year.

Never believe any Culpepper hype 'cause its just going to burn you in the end.

Although I could totally see Oakland saying McCown is going to start, and then start Culpepper just to try to throw off the Lions since they suck that much.

Well at least one of the two biggest jobbers in the NFL won't be 0-16...look at things on the bright side...at least one will get the W...

Culpepper IMO looked alittle better than McCown in the preseason. He looks to have some mobility back. There was a play against the Rams and it was 3rd and 6 and he ran 8 yards for the first down. He arm still looks strong. He threw a 44 yard strike to Madsen for a TD. He seems to have a rhythm with Ronald Curry. His drawback is he had a few fumbled snaps. That played a part in the decision to start McCown I think. As for Russell he tried to play poker with Big Al and sees he can't win. He's gonna be in the Silver & Black by the end of this week.

He growls as he storms the country
A villain big and bold
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake
As he robs them of their gold.
The Autumn wind is a RAIDER
Pillaging just for fun
He'll knock you 'round and upside down
And laugh when he's conquered and won.

If Culpepper does start you'll be seeing those fumbles a LOT more.

That shit was so aggrivating to watch...I was actually physically ill by halftime of the Week 2 game against the Bills last year.
