Default Ty Law signs with Jets!

I just saw it on the ticker on ESPN while watching NFL Live

Law on Jets' Side

The New York Jets announced Monday the signing of free agent cornerback Ty Law to a multi-year contract. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The announcement was made by Jets’ Executive Vice President/General Manager Terry Bradway.

Law, 31,is a native of Aliquippa, Pa., and starred at Michigan on the collegiate level before declaring himself eligible for the NFL following his junior season. He was selected in the first round of the 1995 Draft by the New England Patriots with the 23rd overall pick. Law played from 1995-2004 with the Patriots and is tied for first on the club’s all-time interceptions list with 36 thefts (Raymond Clayborn). He is entering his 11th season in the NFL. Law has earned four trips to the Pro Bowl: 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2003.

In 2004, Law started the first seven games of the season before being sidelined with a broken bone in his foot that kept him out for the remainder of the season and the Patriots’ Super Bowl victory.

Law led the NFL with 23 passes defensed in 2003, setting the pace for a defense that led the NFL with 121 passes defensed. During his nine-year NFL career, Law has defensed 139 passes. In 2003, Law was part of a Patriots defense that led the NFL in four key categories: opponents’ points per game (14.9), opponents’ passer rating (56.2), interceptions (29) and passing touchdowns surrendered (11).

In 1998, Law earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl. That year he led the league with nine interceptions, the first time any New England Patriot had led the league in interceptions. In 1999, Law earn a trip to his second consecutive Pro Bowl. And Law was voted to the Pro Bowl for the third consecutive year and for the fourth time in his career after the 2003 season.

Law owns the franchise record with six career interceptions returned for touchdowns. He has also returned three interceptions for touchdowns in postseason play, including one in the Super Bowl and twin the Pro Bowl.

Holy shit, that's so fucking awesome. It's about time the Jets got a clutch player in their secondary. Now their defense is gonna be top five for sure.

^just like Champ Bailey did for Denver???

I heard it before somewhere, "There's no such thing as a shut down corner in the NFL." The game is made to protect the passing game. Law wasn't there in the superbowl against a team that threw the ball all over the place and the secondary still rocked. NE dumped some 4th striing nobody's into the conerback spots and they won anyway. The system demanded it from them. Harrison was a huge help. Ty Law, for all his individual greatness, isn't going to automatically make a top five defense. Have some objectivity

Well, I didn't say that just because I'm a fan. Their D-Line and Linebacking cores are solid as a rock, so with the addition of Ty Law in their secondary, their defense is going to be even nastier than it already is. I mean, last year without Ty Law (they're bringing back like 9 starters), they had fewer PPG average allowed than the Patriots and tied Pittsburg and Baltimore in the same category. Their run defense was great, and with Ty Law wearing green now, their defense is gonna be up there with the best in the NFL.

Typical Jets. They always sign a washed-up great player from a divsion rival. He won't make much of an impact for them.

Sure...you can take a run at numbfuck SC or plainjane Josh or complete moron Alex or can't get out of his own way Boston...but I don't agree with you about Barry and it's "Rueben Droughns this" "weed that" "your kids this" "Look at me and my halo over my head that."

Whatever. First of all, you don't have any depth of knowledge about any of that stuff, so you're just talking out of your ass. Secondly, you wouldn't be saying any of that shit if Barry Bonds wasn't some roided up freak who you're in love with.

It's fucking gay. I have better things to do than deal with someone who can't even debate a point, rather changes the subject again and again to deflect the fact that he's dead wrong. It's what dumbass 6th graders do...

I honestly don't give a fuck about your opinion. Like I told Alex, they're just words on a screen. I can't believe you don't get that concept...but okay.

I mean...you're the kind of guy that thinks if you yell louder than the other person, you will win a debate. And that's not new either...I've pretty much thought that about you from day one...

I didn't want to put it that way, but since you want to press on...

Lame dude. Just lame. I have better shit to do. You probably should too...but I'm betting you don't...

Late.
