Man.I totally am not feeling your picks...

ACC: To have Miami at 6-5 may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard..UVA didn't beat a Ranked team last year..And they just lost their best Offensive weapon..Them winning the coastal is laughable at best. VT at 5-3 in the ACC?..Didn't they win it last year?..Umm..Yeah...Clemson won't go 803..No way in Hell..NCSU's Defense will get them to 2nd. Prediction: FSU vs. VT/UM in the ACC title Game..Winner goes to the Orange bowl.

Big East: Pitt and WVU over Louisville?..Nah. Louisville will have one loss at worse. Prediction: Louisville meets the ACC Champ in the Orange Bowl.

Big 12: North Division means shit..Just throw whoever in against Texas or Oklahoma in the title game and watch them Get Stomped. Texas beats Oklahoma, and wins the Big 12 Title. Prediction: Texas in the Rose Bowl.

Big 10: OSU is good this year..So is Iowa,Michigan, and Wisky..OSU or Iowa takes the Crown. Prediction: Iowa in the fiesta bowl.

Pac 10: USC is loaded again..No one will touch their jock strap in the PAC-10.
Prediction:USC to the Rose Bowl.

SEC: UF is excited..I have them going 9-2..Tennessee will come out of their division..and face Auburn in the SEC title game. Prediction: Tennessee in the Sugar Bowl.

The other divisions mean squat.

BCS Bowls:
Orange Bowl: FSU (11-1) vs. Louisville. (11-0)
Sugar Bowl: Tennessee(11-1) vs. Ohio State: (9-2)
Fiesta Bowl: Iowa (10-1) vs. Oklahoma (9-2)
Rose Bowl (National Championship) USC (11-0) vs. Texas (12-0)

Like I said I haven't done much research on this years college season, I'll have a much better one when it gets closer to season time.

Sam 25 Jun 2005 06:09 PM

Florida's gonna finish the regular season 10-1 and win the SEC title. Everyone else is wrong.

Dr. Safety 26 Jun 2005 01:28 PM

You guys picking Auburn to win the SEC west...what are you basing this off of?

The guys coming in to replace their backfield are mediocre at best. LSU is losing almost nobody. LSU is definately the safe pick to take that division on talent alone. Alabama probably will finish second.

As for the Pac-10... don't sleep on Oregon. They had alot of superstars hurt last year that will be back this year.
USC has lost so much on defense to graduation and grades issues, that I see them getting upset at least once. Their offense is ridiculous though. (losing Chow will hurt a little though)

Big 12 prediction: Oklahoma will suck. Ok, they wont suck...but they will lose several close games. Even Oklahoma has to rebuild every once in a while.

In the ACC I dont see anyone knocking off VT. FSU has a great defense, but their offense is going to give up a few points every game. Same deal for Miami. VT has all the peices. And NCSU should be the sleeper this year because of their NFL calibre defensive line.

In the Big 10 I think Iowa will pull it off. But its going to be hard for them to replace their entire D-line. Fortunately for them they have two first round picks playing linebacker.
Nobody in the Big 10 goes undefeated this year though. The division is far too deep. (second deepest...only the SEC is deeper)

Dan Snyder 26 Jun 2005 07:42 PM

Here are my Big 10 bowl projections

Sugar: Ohio St
Orange: Michigan
Cap 1: Iowa
Outback: Purdue
Alamo: PSU
Music City: Minnesota
Motor City: Wisconsin

They could take it. Who knows.

Dr. Safety 27 Jun 2005 01:01 AM

Ohio State, just like Iowa, has two linebackers who could easily be taken in the first round of the draft. Most likely Hawk goes in the first and the other goes in the early second.

Iowas LBs are better...just not by very much.

Penn State will be the spoiler school in the big 10 this year. Their defense is absolutely outstanding...even better than Iowas or OSUs...as remarkable as that sounds. They could be a contender if they had any offensive consistancy.

Tennessee is the best team in the SEC east on paper. In reality, its Georgia. Ainge is overrated and fragile. UGA's OL returns 7 players with significant starting time. Thats unheard of depth.

OSU has a better defense than the 2002 version, but people must step up on offense. Smith or Zwick has to put a stranglehold on the starting job, a running back must be found and Ted Ginn and Anthony Gonzales has to become consistent threats at WR. They are a national title contender, no doubt.

If their D is better than the 2002 team, it will be an interesting Mich-OSU game this year. Michigan's talented Offence vs. Ohio States talented Defence.

Penn State will be the comeback team of the Big 10. That defense could have won a national title last year. They were the ONLY team in the NCAA to not allow more than 24 pts. a game.

Big 10 Preview

I got great feedback from my ACC Preview. Now here is my Big 10 Preview.

Big 10

1.Ohio State 8-0 10-1-They have good, young, and talented quarterbacks as well as some great recievers to throw to. The defense should still be great with lots of experience, even with the loss of the coordinator to Marshall the Buckeye defense should still be great. Overall this team looks like an outside contender for the national championship.
2.Michigan 6-2 9-2-They have a great quarterback and running back, and decent recievers, the Wolverine offense should be great, but the loss of Braylon Edwards will hurt. The defense should be great with lots of experience, but the one thing that they need to do is stay consistent and they will win a lot of ball games. Overall, they could end up challenging Ohio State for the Big 10 title if the Buckeyes stumble at all during the season, but I just don't see that happening.
3.Iowa 6-2 9-2-The offense should be much better this season with experience on the offensive line and a good running back. Barring injuries, this defense could be one of the best in the nation. Overall, if the Hawkeyes can pick up key victories, they could end up being an outside shot at a BCS bowl.
4.Purdue 5-3 8-3-The offense should be fine as long as the replacment of Kyle Orton at quarterback and Taylor Stubblefield at wide reciever step up to the plate and perform. All the starters return to what should be a good defense and keep the Boilermakers in most games. Overall an 8-3 season should be looked at as a great year for this team.
5.Minnesota 4-4 7-4-The offense will be one of the best in the nation with a great offensive line and a pretty good quarterback at the helm. The defense is the weak point of the team, but with improvments and training in the off-season, the Golden Gophers should have a pretty good defense. Overall the offense looks great, but the defense can't really put up their end of the bargon.
6.Michigan State 4-4 7-4-The offense should be really good as long as the quarterback Drew Stanton can stay healthy. The defense will probably be even worse than last year with not many starters returning. Overall just as the same for Minnesota, the offense looks great for the Spartans, but the defense can't really hold up their end of the bargon.
7.Wisconsin 3-5 7-5-The offense will be "Above Average" with a pretty good quarterback and some decent running backs that need to stay healthy to have success this season. The defense will struggle losing all starters on the defensive line. Overall in a year or so this team will be special, however don't worry Badger fans they will still go to a bowl game.
8.Penn State 3-5 6-5-Lots of experience returns on the offensive line, and they need to be much better for the Nittany Lion offense to produce. The defense should be great with lots of experience and should carry the team. Overall the defense will carry the team to a bowl game this season.
9.Illinois 2-6 3-8-The offense will be decent with some great running backs, but past that not too much. The defense is still very young and inexperienced. Overall, who knows, mabey the Fighing Illini will fight their way to a bowl game in a year or two or three.
10.Northwestern 2-6 3-8-The offense should be great with lots of experience returning. The defense however won't be too good. Overall offense will be good, but the defense, well, won't be too good for the Wildcats.
11.Indiana 1-7 3-8-The not to good offense from last year will be even worse with the loss of key starters. The Hoosier defense will be the strong point to the team. Overall, the team is just not that good.

I hope you all like, now I look at research for my next preview.

Dan Snyder 06 Jul 2005 07:19 AM

Once again, you do a great job. I live in Big 10 country and here is my opinion on each team.

Illinois
Good News: They have capable runners in Pierre Thomas and freshman Rashard Mendenhall. Special teams is decent. Ron Zook is making big gains in the state of Illinois
Bad News: Must learn new schemes. No real depth at QB, WR or LB

Indiana
Good News: Terry Hoeppner is a coach that actually WANTS to come to Bloomington. Fans and alumni are warming up to him quite well and he brought his entire staff from Miami OH. Returns most of its defense.
Bad News: No offensive depth or threats since Courtney Roby graduates and Benjarvus Green-Ellis transfered to Ole Miss

Iowa
Good News: Might have the best linebacking duo in Chad Greenway and Abdul Hodge. Drew Tate is a heisman threat. Underrated WRs and DBs. No coach is better than Kirk Ferentz
Bad News:Someone must step up at RB

Michigan
Good News: Might have the best set of skill players outside of Los Angeles. Chad Henne and Mike Hart are back to wreak havoc again. Jason Avant, Steve Breaston, Doug Dutch and Mario Manningham form a capable WR corps. Returns both O and D lines. Special Teams are becoming a strength.
Bad News: Must learn to control scrambling QBs. Losing Braylon may cause the offense to struggle early.

Michigan State
Good News: Drew Stanton is as good a QB out there. Returning WRs are seniors. Offensive line is underrated. Brandon Fields may be best punter in country.
Bad News: Defensive laspes cost Spartans a chance at bowl bid. Must replace super kicker Dave Rayner

Minnesota
Good News: Laurence Maroney comes back and is best back in Big 10. Always has good O-Line play and underrated WRs. Easy OCC schedule. Will finally get that on campus stadium
Bad News: D-Line play wasn't too good. Bryan Cupito must learn to be patient in pocket. Losses to Michigan (close ones) send the Gophers in a tailspin.

Northwestern
Good News: Brett Basanez and Mark Philmore return for their senior seasons, Philmore is a VERY underrated WR. MLB Tim McGarigle led NCAA in tackles. Never count out a Randy Walker coached team.
Bad News: No one proven at RB (freshman Tyrell Sutton could be a starter). Brutal home schedule.

Ohio State
Good News: Might have best defense in country. AJ Hawk, Bobby Carpenter and Anthony Schlegal lead a great corps of LB with Mike D'Andrea, John Kerr, Marcus Freeman giving solid support. Ashton Yobouty is the best cover man in the confrence. Santonio Holmes is a big time threat with Ted Ginn giving a good deep threat and excellent special teams play.
Bad News: Someone must step up at QB and RB. Will have to travel to State College and Ann Arbor. Texas game could be dangerous.

Penn State
Good News: Defense was national title worthy. Did not allow more than 21 points all year. Alan Zematis and Anwar Phillips are a great DB duo. Returns D and O lines. Derek Williams could have a Ginn-like impact on offense.
Bad News: Mike Robinson needs to get healthy. RB and WR positions need solidified.

Purdue
Good News: Will not face OSU or Michigan. Toughest home game is Iowa (winnable). Brandon Kirsch is a running and passing threat. Dorien Bryant and 6'9" Kyle Ingham are good WRs. D-line led by Brent Grover and Brandon Villarreal give great play.
Bad News: O-line and LB play is a little below average

Wisconsin
Good News: John Stocco returns as QB. Colorado transfer Brian Calhoun will replace Anthony Davis. Brandon Williams is a good WR you'll hear a lot more of. Has an easy OOC slate.
Bad News: Lost a whole LOT. 25 letterman in all.
