Default REALLY Early NHL standings predictions.

Eastern Confrence

Atlantic
Philadelphia - The Flyers are loading up this off-season. It will keep them on-top.
New Jersey - The Devils will knock on the Flyer's door, but wont be let in.
Islanders - Heh, what can I say. They are a third place team, with nothing special.
Penguins - If this new kid is a good as everyone says he is, he will propel the Penguins.
Rangers - I'm not expecting anything new from them. This will put them in last place.

Northeast
Boston - The Bruins will win this division, in the last season's fasion.
Ottawa - Ottawa will benefit from Toronto's loss.
Montreal - I expect the same kind of play, with the Canadians also benefiting from Toronto's loss.
Toronto - The Leafs traded away their "team". They will be bad, but not last place bad.
Buffalo - See above comment.

Southeast
Tampa Bay - The champions will be succesful in defending their division title, but not the Stanly Cup.
Florida - The Panthers are a good team in hiding. The addition of some veteran talent will take them out of hiding.
Carolina - The Hurricanes will get over the set-back of 2003, and be better.
Atlanta - The Thrashers wont be spectacular. That's all I have to say.
Washington - The Capitals will continue to drag around last place.

Western Confrence

Central
Detroit - The Wings have lost some good talent, but their experience will keep them above rival St. Louis.
St. Louis - The Blues will be right there, but will just fall short.
Columbus - The Blue Jackets have a good pickup in Adam Foote. He will provide some defence to edge them past Nashville.
Nashville - The Predators will have it, but not enough of it to keep them in 3rd.
Chicago - The Blackhawks will be a disapointment again.

Northwest
Colorado - The Av's just missed it last time, they wont this time.
Calgary - The Flames have some good pick-ups. This will propel them past Vancouver.
Vancouver - The Canucks will fall short.
Edmonton - Nothing special about this team. They won't have a special season.
Minnesota - I really want the Wild to do well, but I sadly don't think they will do good.

Pacific
San Jose - The Sharks will have a similar finish as last time.
Dallas - The Stars are past their prime, but they are still a force not to reckon with.
Anaheim - The Ducks actually had more wins than the Kings last time, but there are no more ties this season.
Los Angeles - The Kings will do well, fourth place well.
Phoenix - Unless Gretzky is suiting up, the Cyotes will finish in fourth, but why is there hockey in the desert anyway?
