Default Pistons re-sign Rasheed Wallace...

Rasheed Wallace helped transform the Detroit Pistons from contenders to NBA champions last month. Now, he's coming back for more.

The unrestricted free agent forward has agreed to a five-year contract worth $57 million, a source told ESPN Insider Chad Ford on Wednesday.

The league source expected Wallace to sign the deal on Thursday. Wallace is to meet with reporters at a news conference Friday morning at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Associated Press, citing two anonymous sources, also reports that the sides have reached agreement.

Wallace, who made $17 million last season, was acquired in a three-team deal Feb. 19 to put the Pistons over the top. And he did.

Full story here.

He was defenitly worth the investment last year, especially during playoff time... but I don't think any Eastern teams will be able to compete with the West next year besides Miami, and that's only because they have Shaq... the West is just too powerful...

I disagree about that last statement. The Pistons have pretty much the same team as last year...like you said, Miami as well....but I think that the Pacers could do some damage....they're shaping up nicely...
