Default High Sticking "Concerns"

Well, as most people who follow the NHL know, there has been an abundance of highsticking penalties and non-penalties in the game lately. This problem has now been brought to the forefront by what happened to Jeremy Roenick last week, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Just watching the Leafs game tonight, 6 of the 9 minor penalties were highsticking and it's probably the same throughout the league. I can understand one or two during the course of a game but this just seems to be getting out of hand.

So what I ask you is ... what do you think, if anything, the league can do to crack down on the amount of highsticking penalties?

Maybe the league could do what they did with diving .... fine the player $1,000 for each penalty. You don't see as much diving anymore. Just a thought.

You do see alot more then usual. I don't think alot of players are doing it on purpose though. Only a few. I'm not to sure what the NHL can do about it though. I don't think they can do anything just yet. If it really starts to get out of control then I guess fines would be their best option.

Yeah, most of them aren't on purpose, but it's still carelessness on the players part. The players should be able to keep their sticks under control and not have them swinging all over the place.
