Because much like it's always been and the same with college basketball, if a team is ranked a certain #....ok for example. Say this was week 7 of college football and Michigan was #5 and Tennessee #6. Michigan thumps Illionis by 35 points and they're 0-5. Tenneesee beats Georgia by 20. Michigan won't get jumped because they won their game. Most of the time if the team ranked ahead of you wins, they're not going to be jumped, because they aren't going to get penalised for playing a weaker team that week. They won the game and they'll stay ahead. Besides if 5 weeks later Michigan beats #2 Ohio State and Tennessee beats an 0-9 Vanderbilt it all evens out.
So granted LSU won against a tougher team but USC wasn't going to be penalised in the ap and coaches poll. However that doesn't mean that they're the best team to compete for the Sugar Bowl. Oklahoma had played top 10 ranked teams all season long and lost a championship game. That still is more power rankings then USC who played hardly any top 10 teams, let alone top 25 teams this season. Get it, got it, good! |

Ok Athos,USC's "great defense" gave up 400 passing yards to oregon state and 28 points,if OS didn't have such a young QB,they could of put up over 40 on them. Same goes for their game against Hawaii, they gave up 31,now in these games there offense shredded the defense. But they won't be able to do that against Michigan! Navarre will pick them apart, and perry's rushing will wear them down. LSU has stiffeled the best offenses in the nation. They are simply better than USC!
Side Note:Michigan beats USC by 10. mark it down.

Actually I have Michigan by 21 When it comes to bowl games the Wolverines turn it up a notch and they dismanteld Ohio State and they will USC. This isn't a pac 10 team that USC is facing and they're going to get picked apart. Take away that Iowa loss and Michigan is in the Sugar Bowl. Either way USC is going to be exposed for not being as good a team as hyped up to be.

I agree with absolutely everything Blood Ice has said in this thread
and ahtios- i wouldn't call Ohio State's offense crappy. why do you think michigan beat them by 20+ points? because they're defense couldn't stop the high-powered Michigan offense

There's no way Ohio Sate can be considered a crappy defense. The only reason they would've lost to purdue 13-10 in regulation is because of a made field goal. Do you know why the game was that close? GOOD DEFENSE on both teams. Ohio State didn't stay ranked at the top of the polls and have a chance to defend their title all season long with crappy defense. I can understand you being a USC fan, but let's be realistic when trying to prove a point. Hell I despise Ohio State but i'm not ignorant enough to say their defense is crap.

You GUYS STILL DON'T GET IT. USC ONLY LOST WAS BY THREE yep 3 yep 3 yep 3 POINTS.
Three POINTS!!!!!!! Compared to MICHIGAN LOSING 2 GAMES!!!! Ya when they played Oregan they didn't have all their player. NO ONE DOES!!!! They should have still won if they are the team of the century. Michigan LOST TO IOWA!!!!!!! Oregan State did have a good defense. Just ask the number 18 school Boise State USC WILL WIN THE ROSE BOWL!!!! By the way since you guys have short term memory USC ONLY LOST OF THE SEASON WAS BY THREE POINTS |

In reality Pac 10 has the hardest division in College Football. That is why they win against each other. Oregan is good since they defeat Michigan, and Oregan state
Oregan State is good because they defeat BSU |

Oh god you're so dellusional *sp*.
Pac 10 sent Cal UCLA Oregon Washington State USC Oregon State and two of these teams didn't deserve to go, yet how many of those teams above were top 10? Big 10 sent Michigan Ohio State Purdue Wisconsin Minnesota Iowa Michigan State Fact is the BIG 10 was a much tougher conference and MOST of their teams were in the top 10 MOST OF THE SEASON!!! So USC only lost one game by 3 points. Look at their schedule. They beat Notre Dame...WHO DIDN"T MAKE A BOWL GAME! They beat stanford, washington, arizona and arizona state......yeah that's something to be proud of, teams that barely won any games let alone showed any threat to being a .500 team. Oklahoma lost one game, yet a championship game to a TOP TEN TEAM! Hmmm let's look at the Big 12 teams that made a bowl game Oklahoma Oklahoma State Kansas Kansas State Texas Texas Tech Nebraska Missouri OKlahoma went through all of those teams and ALABAMA!!!! So 3 point loss or not, look at the teams Okloahoma and Michigan had to beat, let alone the teams that they sent from their conference along with the SEC and you'll see why USC was moved to third in the BCS. Hell Michigan went on a 5 to 6 week run of beating nothing but top 10 teams ...and that was 5 to 6 weeks in a row. Choke on that dumbass! |

Oh and saying Oregon is good because they beat Michigan, is that why they were blown out by Washington the next week, then barely made a bowl game to a piss poor season. Is that way Oregon State barely made a bowl game? Hell Washington State destroyed the Ducks. Fact is , the pac 10 had a good game then that team would get blown out, and barely stay in contention for a bowl game let alone a winning season. So just because Oregon beat Michigan it doesn't make them good or qualify as having a good season.
Either way you better go back and do your homework and look at games, stats, the teams that were sent from each conference, their rankings at that point in time and most of the season before you come back and try to prove your point. You're talking to someone who wached over 900 college football games this year, and the only thing you're making yourself out to be is a bitter USC fan, who has yet to prove why you're right on USC being hosed. |

last point.....final top 25 rankings show:
Big 12 = 5 teams Big 10 = 5 teams SEC = 5 teams Pac 10 = 2 teams ACC = 2 teams Big East = 2 teams no more crying.....Pac 10 is the weakest conference of the big four......that's why USC isn't in...... 'nuff said.
