Van Gundy not interested in Hornets' coaching post

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press

NEW ORLEANS -- Former New York Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy has told the New Orleans Hornets that he is not interested in the team's coaching job.

Hornets executive vice president of basketball operations Bob Bass said Friday that Van Gundy told him he is content in his current job as an NBA television analyst for TNT.

"He was very cordial,'' Bass said.

Bass received permission from the Knicks to talk with Van Gundy, who is under contract with New York until Aug. 1.

The Hornets are looking for a replacement for Paul Silas, who was fired after the team lost in the first round of the NBA playoffs to Philadelphia.

Van Gundy, who compiled a 248-172 record with the Knicks, resigned 19 games into the 2001-02 season.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK He was one of the coaches I wanted the Hornets to go after and make an offer. All I gotta say is they better not hire Mike Fratello or Tim Floyd. I can live with Mike Dunleavy but not those two.
