Default GUSCOAT Round 3: Goldberg vs. Ric Flair

Goldberg came onto the scene and made a quiet arrival in WCW...after compiling an undefeated streak and gaining momentum, it was inevitable that Goldberg would get a hold of gold in future, he was able to win the US title from Raven in an easy match and remain undefeated for three months as US champ...the only reason he gave up the belt was because he captured the WCW heavyweight title.

Flair has only 2 US title reigns to his name..the First came when he beat Jimmy Snuka in Greensboro NC in april of 1980...Flair was coming into his own and was being groomed as a World Champion when this occured..he kept the belt unil Janurary of 81 when he lost to Roddy Piper...the second reign oddly enough would come not unitl the mid 90s...amidst all the NWO Flair would beat Konnan to win the United States title in July of 96...he kept the belt until September when a shoulder injury forced him to give up the title.

dug a little bit deeper and came up with the fact that Flair first won the title in 1977 over Bobo Brazil.....he's actually held the title five times total.....credit OEO

held the title first time around for about 4 months. However Flair goes on to win it again, and holds it for about 8 months this time.(Longer then Orton held the IC title, that WWE makes such a big deal about). Then he would be in some great classic fueds, holding the title a total of 6 times actually...credit DRE

how so?
Goldberg did nothing for the US title. He used it. It was an incredibly short run, from an untalented indivdual. The undefeated streak was retarded, wCw imported jobbers from other feds so that Bergie could remain undefeated. The run was a joke, and was almost painful to watch.
