Default GWOAT becomes groundbreaking

The GWOAT took things to a new level and spawned a tourney madness all over PWF. The greatest wrestler of all time tourney was a brainchild of DC and Kurt Angle and became very successful..In time it lead to the Greatest Tag Team of All time, US champ of all time, and soon the greatest heel of all time...not to mention the other forums using the same concept..The GWOAT used a wildcard system and was made up of the top 128 wrestlers from around the world.

Default Sting vs. HBK: Too Soon?

In a shocking turn of events the 2nd round of the GWOAT saw two legends square off. WCW's own Sting took on WWE's Shawn Michaels in a matchup that was predetermined by a set bracket. HBK would win, but Sting would still have a shot by gaining enough votes to get into the wildcard round.

Default Flair, Puro Stars use weekend to advance

Ric Flair, and several Puro Stars used the weekend's low vote counts to advance several rounds..with not many voters online during the weekend, Flair along with Keiji Mutoh and Masa Chono had a little advantage when getting the votes they needed to advance. Top guys in the industry who would advance anyway had an easy time when the votes stayed low.

Default Thesz and Sammartino get taken out

Old School legends and early on favs Lou Thesz and Bruno Sammartino were eliminated before the final four...Thesz was beat by Bret Hart who nearly doubled his vote total, while Sammartino was blown out of the water 11-4 by Steve Austin. Both wrestlers failed to qualify for the Wildcard Round.

Default Beniot Beat?

Chris Beniot took a very early exit in the 2nd round of the GWOAT tourney...Beniot was the 2nd highest vote getter in his side of the bracket lost to the undertaker in a landslide...Taker doubled beniot up, and put him not only out of the winner's bracket but cost him a shot and getting a wildcard spot as well.

Default Sting wins wildcard

Sting won the wildcard bracket beating Roddy Piper, Ted Dibiase and Curt Henning showing that WCW is more powerful than old school WWF. Sting would be a favorite to still win the tourney however in a triple threat match with Steve Austin and Keiji Mutoh, Sting would lose out to Austin for a chance to head to the final four.

Default Ric Flair is the GWOAT

Flair wins the finals beating Steve Austin in what was basically a no brainer..Picked to be the odds on favorite to win the tourney Flair beat HBK, Bret Hart and Steve Austin in order to win the whole tourney and set up what was going to be a very interesting Tag Team Tourney

Default Tag Tourney gets shocker when Popular team gets the boot

The New Age Outlaws of Billy Gunn and Jesse James were the 2nd highest vote getters in the GTTOAT tourney. The NAO were upset in teh 3rd round when a triple threat matchup cost them what could have been the title. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew recieved one more vote than the outlaws and also benefited from having the Eliminators pick up a few votes as well, and were able to move on in the tourney.

Default Triple threat for tag champs

Harlem Heat the popular vote favorite squared off against the Road Warriors and The Steiner Brothers. Heat had the early lead, but the Steiners managed to come back and force a tie. This lead to a second final, with the Steiners outright winning the tourney beating the favored heat.

Default Controversy continues as the US tourney Rolls into the second round

So Far Controversy has been an issue with the previous two tournaments. HHH met an early defeat thanks to the anti-HHH voters..which many feel was political..with the Steiners coming from behind in the GTTOAT finals, a second final saw the first public vote in the tourney. And now the US tourney has started off in controversy with Raven pulling a one point lead to eliminate the American Dream Dusty Rhodes from the tourney. Rhodes a perenniel favorite was beat by a guy that had the US belt for less than 24 hours. the fans and voters have spoken, and another legend has fallen in old school/new school battle. Stay tuned for more updates and the 2nd round will begin with only 23 wrestlers remaining.

Default PWF's youngsters miss out on older tag teams.....

Given the age of several of PWF's brightest and finest posters, they pressed on in the tag tourney without taking such past superstar teams as the Freebirds, the Von Erich's and even the Midnight Express into the late rounds.....fortunately, several of these teams made it through based on sheer will power alone, garnering just enough votes to make the competition have an "old school" feel.....as in real life, many of the great past tag teams met in opposing polls and made the tag tourney the best yet.....

Default Round 2 of US Tourney heats up with horsemen rivalry

two members of the elite group the Four Horsemen square off against each other in the 2nd round of the GUSCOAT. Ric Flair "PWF's GWOAT" shows his skills off as being US champ taking on his friend and stablemate Tully Blanchard. This bracket has proved to be the toughest to date, and will definitely give the US tourney a much needed boost when it comes to how tough it is to choose between wrestlers.

On the subject of tough decisions, the US tourney has produced a lot of ties early on, and will setup some interesting three way matches as we get closer to narrowing the field down. More to come later...

Default shocking turn of events.....the American Dream falls to a joke.....

in what is quite possibly the biggest upset of any of the tourneys, the American Dream Dusty Rhodes fell by one vote to the unlikely winner Raven.....what about Raven?.....he held the title of US Champion for less than one full day, yet he beat one of the NWA/WCW legends in the Greatest US Champion of all Time tourney.....
