Default GUSCOAT Round 1: Barry Windham vs. Rick Rude

a classic matchup in this one

Windham won the US title from Nikita Koloff in a vacted tourney for the US crown in may of 88...he held the belt till feb. of 89 when he lost to lex luger sparking a fued that would evolve into a battle for the World title.

Rude left the wwf and made his debut in WCW as a halloween phantom...sparking a fued with Sting Rude won the US title in nov of 91. and held onto the title till december of 92 when he was stripped of the belt for being unable to defend it due to injury

this was a tough vote for me.....I am admittedly a bigger fan of Windham than Rude, but I remember Rude's title reign quite well.....I voted Rude.....

I'm with Oeo, Rude's title reign brought so much crediablilty to the US title that it made it more important then the World title at some points. Rude held the US title for over a year straight and it was a great time all the way through. It sucks that somone as good as Windham when it comes to US champions has to go against him so early, as Windham did a great job as US champion while being a Horsemen......

Never really cared for Windham. He was good, don't get me wrong, but he just wasn't my cup of tea.

That and I love watching anything Rude did. Hell, he even made a program with the Warrior watchable, even now.
