Default GTTOAT Round 1: Powers of Pain vs. Dr. Death & Terry Gordy

dust your shoulder off on this one...an old school challenge here..

The Powers of Pain were created to battle Demolition in the WWF...Warlord and Barbarian were very unorthodox..while their size was a good point for them..it never did help them capture the tag titles..

Dr. Death Steve Williams and Terry Gordy were stars in the US...Williams a member of the Varsity Club and Gordy representing the Freebirds dominated NWA wrestling..however they found success together in Japan..Wrestling for All Japan these two teamed up to win the Tag Titles in March of 1990..keeping them for 4 months in december of 1990 they would win the annual All Japan tag tournament and keep the belts for 4 more months...they would be in a fued with Stan Hansen and Dan Spivey where Gordy and WIlliams would win their 3rd tag title. in december of 1991 they would win the annual tournament again and get their 4th run as champs..this lasted for 3 months..At this time they entered WCW and won the WCW tag team title in july of 92, keeping them for 2 months..they would come back to Japan in 93and gain the belts again for a 5th time and keep them for 5 more months..That would then be the end of their careers together.

You got a team that was so easy to mark for here. Doc and Gordy had some of the best wrestling matches as a tag team to watch. They're stiff style of wrestling is something that I like to see, and the fact that Death was an athlete on the same caliber as Brock Lesnar is. And Gordy had quite the legend himself. They have accomplished many things over the years that they were a team and enjoyed much success together as well. The chemistry and style they brought to the ring was great.

Powers of Pain were a team that was together before WWF, as they were in NWA before and were in fueds with The Road Warroirs. Actually there biggest moment is winning the Six Man tag titles from Rhodes and LOD with their 3 man being Ivan Koloff.

However they were never on the same level as Doc and Gordy were and nowhere held as highly internatoinally as this team. Gordy and Williams it is.....
