Default Gatorade

What a fuckin joke.

Giant motivational words on bottles, Lil Wayne commercials, etc. What did they prove by shortening their name to G? That they're a universally recognized drink, no matter what they're called? No shit. Guess what, Gatorade? People always thought your drink was awesome. The drink itself symbolized sports, but don't let it get to your head. I just prefer stories of how the Kansas City Chiefs won the Superbowl drinking your at-the-time-new drink, not rappers telling us your drink is the heart and soul of the game. I just think you've gone overboard with the marketing.

I don't actually have a problem with Gatorade. Maybe their commercialism annoys me a little bit (is the economy really that bad, that a company as big as Gatorade needs all that extra promotion?), the same way it annoys me to see the NBA Finals turned into a circus every year, but as long as they don't poison the drinks, it's all good. I just felt like going off. This site could use some good old fashioned misdirected anger.

End of rant.

Use this thread to discuss Gatorade, advertising, or anything in general that gets under your skin. I recently saw a commercial, I don't remember what it was talking about, maybe getting outside during the summer or something, but its first line was "go climb a tree." "What the fuck did you just say?" was my elegant response. I wasn't even expecting it, and then some motherfucker told me to go climb a tree. Nice line to start a commercial, it's attention grabbing and everything.

First real OT thread in a couple blue moons, let's see how much life this site has...

Some advertisements are a joke......but......I bow at the greatness of Hardees Biscuit Hole commercials. That is one fantastic advertisment campaign. The company that came up with that sales pitch did their job perfectly. The subliminal jokes within those commercials are great, I am suprised that some television stations air them because of strict censorship within America.
