That's a shit reason. Tell him to go get a loan from a bank or go to a credit consolodation place. I'd give out a thousand if it was for something important, like a funeral or some shit like that. But your friends a dumbass who's in debt and wants somebody to bail him out. !,000 bucks is nothing. If he can't pay that shit back to the people he already took it from, then you'll never see your money again. Or he needs to get a better job. Or he needs to ask his parents. Whatever it is, don't give him a penny. Doctor Phil always says, You don't fix money problems with more money. If you give him anything more than a pity $40 spot, you're a sucker.

Umm no, I wouldn't loan/give anyone $1000. I don't really have that much to spare, nor do I have friends.

It's that fucking simple, if he can't pay the people he owes 1 stack. What makes you think he's going to be able to pay you? Around the time he gets the Grand that he owes you, it'll be rent/bill time again. Who do you think he's going to settle up with 1st? The only people you can lend money like that, and get paid back in a good amount of time is Criminals.

Exo and Truth are right. Your buddy fucked himself.

I've loaned out a couple hundred to friends before who got in awful situations that were unavoidable. One of my friends got the flu really bad and couldn't work for a week, and had to choose between rent and food so I loaned him about two hundred to tide him over till the next paycheck, and he got it right back to me.

I have another friend who I would never loan a dime. He blows his paychecks as soon as he gets them and he has so few expenses. He's just a fucking idiot.

Your guy is more likely the second case, right?

And a thousand is too much to ever loan out.

$1,000 is way too much to lend and the risk of not seeing that money again is far too great and costly. I agree with what others have said, you'll most not see that money again and if you did it'll be in bits and pieces and may take a long ass time with you having to ask and remind him every now and then to the point that it becomes frustrating, especially if you actually need the money for whichever reason. It may also effect your friendship in a big way.

They say money is the root to all problems, this will be a prime example.

First of all I don't have that much money to lend out...But if it is really like an "unavoidable" thing...like Life-Death situation...I could manage it...But in this case I said no to him...I know he will pay back at the end of the month...there is no "IF" he will pays back...but he WILL pays back...so that was not a question...

Anyways...It was kind of hard to turned him down...since dude is the type of person that would never asked for help unless he had no way out...and it was one of those sincerely cry for help type of deals...And I actually had similar experiences when I'm dead broke and needed money so desperately...I ended up taken cash-advanced from my Credit card...which is a no-no...and still owe the bank that money for my stupid mistake...Desperate situations call for desperate measures...and I've learned it the hard way...but that's another story for another day...

I would never lend money to anyone because I'm always broke. Maybe a dollar if I had one but that's it.

Being someone's friend is different than being their loan shark or their parents. Most people aren't rich. It's not too hard to say "that's too much, I can't do it." If the person can't accept it and find another way to handle the situation, then they're just not a true friend.

Exo is right, you can't be a sucker. It's like that Leave it to Beaver episode I was watching one time late at night. Wally became an ice cream dude, and all his friends kept using him for free ice cream. Next thing he knows, he's in fucking debt, and Beaver had to bail his ass out. Sometimes it's hard. People want their friends to like them, and they want to help them. And it's okay to help people if it's reasonable. But sometimes you just have to say no. Before you help others you have to help yourself. $1000 is alot to hand over, especially when you don't know if you'll ever see it again. If the guy in question owes alot of money, it's probably because he's irresponsible. He's not the only one who needs that money, you do too.

Like most people, I'm gonna have to say that $1000 is too much of a risk. Unless you have a money tree in your backyard, of course. If you can afford it, maybe you can give them something to help out. That's better than sitting there and doing nothing. One on hand, you're not obligated to give anything to anyone. On the other hand, you should care about your friends, and maybe you're like me and you believe in karma. Good luck with your decision. Edit: nevermind, because apparently, you already made your decision.

I have loaned that much out before, but the situation was much more serious than..."I got a few bills I gotta pay". I will help a friend out if I can, been fucked over many times too, but I am just that kinda guy.

I'm probably usually the one lending it, hah.

But I have never borrowed that much nor lent it to some one, I have lent money before, but only to people I have known a long time and trust, but I wouldn't lend more than like $150.

Anyone wanna "lend" a G to go towards the down payment of a new whip?

On slightly related note, I was at work today, only had a $5 bill and I wanted to get something from the snack machine in the break room and it doesn't take fives, so I was asking everyone if they had change of a $5. Like four different people only had four ones Well dude was on his break with me, so I was like, "fuck it" I gave him my $5 for four ones That's kinda like "loaning" someone some money
