Ohio storms cut power to 100,000-plus
By JOHN McCARTHY, Associated Press Writer
19 minutes ago

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Storms slammed rain-soaked Ohio on Saturday and hundreds of thousands of people in the Midwest were without power after their homes were battered by lashing winds and flooding rains.

Tornado warnings were issued Saturday afternoon for parts of central and southeast Ohio. Downed trees and power lines were reported in the southern part of the state, said National Weather Service meteorologist Andy Hatzos.

Flooding this week spread across an 80-mile swath through the northwest and north central parts of the state. Gov. Ted Strickland toured some of the damaged areas Saturday.

"What I've tried to do and what we've all tried to do is let these folks know ... that we are working to get assistance to them as rapidly as possible," Strickland said.

Powerful storms rolling through the Upper Midwest during most of the past week caused disastrous floods from southeastern Minnesota to Ohio that were blamed for at least 18 deaths.
Here's hoping XeR0 and Brandy are doing okay.

Late.

I think those are the storms that got stronger after hitting my town and Lincoln.

That was after the storm hit.

We just missed the shit. There were tornado warnings left and right simply a county north and south of us. (my town's on a border of two counties, so it's like, you go to the other end of the county in both directions, and the next one you hit is under a warning)

Tornado alarms were going off yesterday. There was a large isolated formation that came over my house. It dropped hail. It was only here for like 30 minutes and then was sunny again. Also another large tree branch feel off and landed in my front yard. This has been the 3rd time this has happened this year. The other times it hit my house but no damage.

I do like using my chain saw though so its cool.

We've had some pretty strong storms here the past week or two. I think one of 'em knocked out our internet. Ironically enough, I'm inclined to think a storm this afternoon knocked the net back in
