The title says it all...
Well I got into alittle trouble tonight. I was pulling out of my parking spot at the local McDonalds and as I was reversing, I got a call on my phone and I went to see who it was but for a split second I forgot I was still backing up and I tapped this spanish guys 2006 Explorer on his bumper. There was no damage, not even a fucking scratch and he ended up calling the cops and shit. I tried to bargain with him because my insurance just expired and I was gonna go this weekend to fix it because I haven't had time recently...so that was my fault, I know that, but the guy could barely speak English and already called the cops and wasn't gonna budge. Technically I was trying to help him out because now he needs to pay for the "damages" from his own pocket and I was willing to give him more than plenty of money to fix it.. So the cops are coming and I already know my car was gonna get towed because I had no insurance. Cop came, the guy found out I had no insurance and was upset. The guy told the cop that I was willing to pay and the cop laughed and said that he should of taken the offer. So my car just got towed and I have to go tommorow to renew my insurance and pick my car up with a licensed driver..Good thing is, the fee is only 30 dollars a day for them to hold my car at the garage...bad thing is, I have to go to court next Monday to plea guilty and possibly have my license suspended for 3-6 months. Now I'm not sure if my license will or will not be suspended. I really hope not because I need that car..I already know points were taken off but I'm not sure that they would suspend it. Does anyone here think they would or wouldn't suspend it?..Ever been in a situation or know someone that was in a similar situation like this?...if you do, what happened? Also...what happened in your first accident(if you ever had one)?..Was it your fault or the other person?... Thanks. |

I havn't had any accidents yet, but what I have had is many close calls. The people in this town do not know how to drive to save their life, can't wait until it snows.
![]() That sucks about your car though, we always renew our insurance in good time so that situation doesn't happen. ![]() |

![]() We've, (my mom and I), have been cut off more times down here than we've ever been cut off in our lives. We've been honked at the exact second the light turned green. Shit, we've been honked at at a red light. The crowning moment, however, is when this asshole pulled out into the middle of traffic, fucking stopped, looked around all fucking confused while he's holding up shit, and then, when he finally did figure out what the fuck he was doing, he looked at my mom and I, gave us the finger, and drove off. This is when we hadn't done a thing. Nothing, except for stop so we didn't bash into his stupid ass. However, on second thought that was probably what we should have done. ![]()

I've been in a couple accidents. The funniest was when my mom drove into a fucking pole at the airport.
![]() When I was 6 years old I was in a car accident. A teenager on a cell phone caused it. I was up front but I had the seatbelt on so I was okay. I don't think anyone got fucked up besides my sister, she was only like 1 year old and she got hit in the head with a fucking seat belt buckle, sorry but I can't help but laugh thinking back on that, she had a huge mark on her head and she spent the next couple of days in the hospital. I remember standing out there in the road, it seemed like hours, that was pretty fucking lame. The thing is, my mom didn't even learn a lesson, and she talks on the phone all the time while driving with the "I've been on the road for 100 years, I know what I'm doing" attitude. What a bitch. |

why would you offer up the fact that your insurance is expired?
![]() you coulda had that shit renewed by the time you had to appear in court. Never give any extra info. If there was no damage to the car, the insurance wouldn't have paid shit anyway. The cop wouldn't have done shit.

The closest thing to an accident I have been in was... I was 14 or something, and I was driving home with my sister from my aunt and uncles, we heard an odd noise, we knew we were going by our grandparents, so we were gonna stop there and have my grandpa look at the car... while my sister was on her cell with my grandma, the rear passenger side tire came off, fortunately we were in the middle lane, if we had been in the left land, we would have slammed into the divider, and it probably would have been a nasty crash, but since we were in the middle she managed to get control of the car, and pull over until my grandpa showed up.
But, I have nothing to contribute to your situation, that definitely sucks... I completely avoid my cell phone while driving. |

I've had two but have been lucky.
The first time I was picking a friend up and she was talking to me while I was backing up as I was parked behind her sisters car. I had forgot there was a car behind me also and backed into it, and my muffler put a hole in her front plate. It was an old lady and I nearly died when I said to her "I am so sorry but I your car" because she had a face thinking I had totalled it or something. She went and got it bent back into place for free I think. But I of course offered to buy her a new plate if she needed, and they're only about $30. The second time it was while I was backing out... here we have parallel parking, and I suck at it. I didn't know I was too close a scraped the side of this chicks "new" and ugly ass car, it was a bad scrape, not very big either but again being an honest person I offered to pay for it, she got my details and lucky I knew her boyfriend because he talked her out of calling the cops so she went and got a quote and it was like $800 for new paint and stripe and shit. Well, its about 4 months later and I haven't heard a peep from her, and I know she has my details, (plus im in the phone book) and I hope I never do. Then I scraped my car myself but my car is old and I love it but I don't care what it looks like, just as long as it gets me where I need to go, that was when I first bought it and parked too close to a power pole... ![]() And there have been many near misses... I have compulsary third party insurance for my car, but that gets paid with the registration, but I have to join up for extra insurance for if I hit somebody else's car, instead of for my own car, there is no point.

If it is your first offense you might not loose your license at all but the judge might order you to take a defensive driving course and pay a fine.
I haven't been involved in an accident since I was 22 but I have been involved in single vehicle accidents. * Went down a ditch and rolled over an 83 Toyota Corolla cause I was speeding on wet pavement. No serious injuries aside from cuts and bruises. * Totalled a 93 Civic when I lost control and hit a concrete barrier rear first. I should of run over that fucking dog instead of swerving to evade it. * I misjudged the distance of a fence pole when I was backing up to my girlfriend's house back then and put a nice scrape on the rear quarter panel. |

^Yeah this is my first offense...everyone I talk to, says I'll lose my license for a year...I seriously hope thats not the case.
Kurt, the cop asked me if I had my insurance car and I told him no. I don't think I could of lied about that. Not unless you mean something else. |

Yeah, you may get fucked because of the no insurance. That will probably depend on the judge you get.
I really need to get insurance on my truck...its hard to believe its been a year...damn time moves fucking fast. |

When you get pulled over they ask if you have insurance, as long as you present the card...you have no problems. 95% of the time, they don't actually call it in to make sure its current. They just make sure you have it. So if you show them the card, its one less ticket you have to deal with. when you go to court, make sure you have got your insurance reinstated. The judge/magistrate/mayor will ask you if you presented insurance at the time of ticketing. The cop will say no. Then you will be asked if you have insurance on the vehicle at this time. You'll present you card. They'll look at the dates on it. hand it back to you. As long as you present insurance at court, they MOST LIKELY, won't suspend your license. However in most states driving without insurance is an automatic suspension...make sure you get it reinstated BEFORE COURT
