Default I'm proud of the Democrats

They bowed out honorably and did the right thing. Kudos to them.

Are you all satisfied now?

They did the right got-damn thing.

what choice did they have? The only other potion was to make complete asses out of the dem party by trying to hope for the impossible.

Personally, I think the dems need to get back to being liberal. I mean, everyone knows they're going to push liberal policy, they should just admit it instead of taking Clinton's "centrist" approach. Among the things of which I didn't hear *a peep* from the Kerry Campaign were: abortion, the environment and healthcare. Those are the left's bread and butter and they shied away if not completely ignored them throughout the campaign. Everyone says that liberalism won't win in an election, but Clinton campaigned off all of those platforms pretty heavily.

BTW, James Carville and Chris Matthews on CNN Election night at 2am looking like they were about to cry was AWESOME.

Late.

If you or someone you know has been caused grief by an "Internet Bully" then you and/or that person is nothing but a little punk ass bitch, and the world would be a better, more manly place if you'd just jump off a fucking bridge already. Late.

^Democrats don't like to be "classified" by their policies. I don't really understand why though. At any rate, they'll talk about things like abortion, gay marriage, taxes etc with a big liberal stance, but then call themselves middle of the road and how they're really just like everyone elxe. I think the democrats have moved so far to the left that they really don't want to listen to, or reach out to ppl that don't agree with them on certain points but do on others. They don't tolerate pro-lifers, they don't tolerate marriage protectors, they don't tolerate opinions that don't fit on their platform. Which is a shame for them, that they've distanced themselves so far from what's really happening in america, that they rely on anti-bush sentiments to run a campaign. I think they've distanced themselves from many of their supporters, especially older ppl. Youth and Bush-hate aren't going to carry them very far.

The republicans did win big, mostly the morality stuff, which begs the question whether there are even enough liberally minded ppl left to gain any political ground in the next few years that the democrats haven't alienated with their insane scream speeches and hard line politics?

But to your point, Kerry was convinced that if he won the war in Iraq, he'd win the election.

Kerry put up a good fight.....it was close for a while. He however had the sense to concede rather than make himself look like a fool.

I'm kinda glad he didn't make us all deal with the recounts this year.

Youth did them no good. MTV worked damn hard to get younger voters out. I remember in the spring seeing their commercial that said: "In the last Presidential Election, 18 Million of you (the 18-25 demographic I assume) voted...think of what could've happened if 20 Million voted??" Honestly, they should've had a "Kerry/Edwards" blurb in there instead, it might have worked better for them. A record number of voters newly 18 since the last election came out to the polls and Bush took the popular vote by an unheardof margin.

I expect MTV will never again air a "Rock The Vote" commercial. By the way, that first paragraph is spot-on like RVD circa 1997...couldn't have said it better.

It has occured to me that possibly it is because liberal policy in it's extreme is a vulnerable punching bag that I think they should move farther to the left...The late eighties were fun.

Late.
