This idea was brought up a while back, and I feel that now is a good time for it. This thread will be used for any discussion about the efed. Each week the card will be posted as well as updates for the PPV. If you have a question ask it in this thread.
I feel this will cut out the comments and stuff in the promo thread, and it make it easier to look for promos. Remember if do not promo in here. It will not count toward your actual match for the week. If you want to talk smack that is fine, but the promo thread is all that counts towards your character winning or losing. If you have any suggestions make them here. If you got a challenge you want to make do it here. All discussion goes here no matter what. Thanks, and enjoy.

Need a banner for the Fandamonium PPV. Glue is already doing the Deadly Survival PPV banner, but I want someone to go ahead and get started on the next one. Let me know if you are interested.
Also since Hugh Miller got injured his talk show has been cancelled..If you want to try and do one feel free to...let me know if you want to try and I will see how I can help. This might just help advance your character.

I will be updating the History thread to show the results of every IWO show since it's inception in 2004. I have all the results i just have to post them..but in the meantime, I came across this hiliarious segment from the past. Enjoy.
*Corey and Ravage have come to the ring and are both confused as to what will happen. The music of Mr. Robere plays and he comes out onto the stage, with an associate that is rolling a cage machine of some sort. The little cage is filled with little plastic eggs.* "Well, well. It seems Alli Sabbah has taken the liberty of making sure you two don't get suspended. With Alli gone from the building and Payne taken to the local hospital for burns and what not. You two have managed to advance in the tournament to crown a number 1 contender for the IWO Heavyweight title. As you can see beside me is the ball machine that will deteremine the pairings for next week. I took the liberty of already drawing the first team before I came out here. Next week Corey you will be paired up with Dante Fatel." *Corey seems okay with the announcement* "And your opponents will be" *robere grabs two eggs and reads both of them..he then announces it to Corey* "your opponents will be The Assassin Dan Mitchell and the IWO Middleweight Champion, the Dogcatcher" *Corey is losing it..he goes crazy in the ring and rolls outside..he begins pushing the ring announcer down, and throwing the papers off the announce table.* "Corey, Corey calm down or else you will be suspended. Now, for you Mr. Ravage, let's see who your partner will be next week." *Robere pulls out an egg and sees that Jason will be partners with Ravage next week. This means that Swinn will partner with Gdawg and bet the opponents in the match* "Good luck to both you next week as you will both need it" *Robere and his associate turn and leave. Corey has now taken a steel chair and climbed back into the ring. Ravage is standing there in shock of what he just learned. As he turns around, Corey levels him upside the head with the chair knocking Ravage out cold. Corey then drops his pants and pisses on Ravage's head. Corey spits on him, and leaves the ring. Medical personnel and some staff members come out to check on Ravage, and clean up this mess*

Do you read the promos and judge them fairly? I know I stepped up and posted some good ones, but if I get jobbed out, what's the point of going all out?

I can't speak for the first question, but I like to make all my promos as good as I can. I've jobbed out the HC Title more than Crash Holly...and the point in going all out is that I like the promos better that way.
It'd be easy to throw together a couple of paragraphs of smack talk and finish it off with some catch phrase...but it'd also be boring. I stopped doing the "It's not about that" thing because I got bored with it, so I moved onto something else. Maybe you're not bored with a particular promo style, and I'm certainly not saying you have to promo in the manner that I do, but if you think a promo style isn't working for you then maybe you should try something a little different. I dunno...just a suggestion. DC asks me to write two endings for every match, though. ![]() Personally, I thought you came out of your last match looking pretty good. I could be wrong, but that's the way it read to me. ![]() Late.

id say key is to not write a promo just to try and win. because then all these catchy and cool phrases run through your head and you type them all out and just get a big cluster fuck. just let it flow naturally, and dont have winning on your mind, just keep thinking for quality. thats what i do, and I'm 9-2

If you have a story line going, try and tie promos in with it as well as promoing for the match in your immediate future. Glue is write about the two endings, I always write up two, so I'm pretty sure he judges them every week.
For the record, I thought your combined promo with Jason this week was particularly good Josh.

I try and look at them as fairly and unbiased as possible. If I just did what I wanted to, then I would still be the world champ.
Also if the promos are too tough to judge, I randomly ask someone that is not involved in the fued to look over the promos of the competitors and tell me which one they thought was better to get a second opinion. Sometimes it's tough if you are outmatched promo wise. If you cut a great promo, but so does your opponent, eventually someone has to lose the match. In most cases even if you lose I try to make sure that you come out looking okay still. Such was the case with your last match Josh. You lost but you still came out as the heel, and left the ring on your own power, with your opponent laid out. hope that helps.

I try my best with my promos. I've won the Hardcore title a few times, but have lost the belt after one successful defence, same with the Tag titles. Before i would try and pull off a killer promo to win, but then when i realised i wasn't getting much glory in terms of championships i decided to just cut a promo not to win, but to entertain whoever reads it and to keep the peace within the IWO.

I actually have a request, and I think I speak for Dr. Doom here on this one, as well...although I'm not sure he's encountered this.
As a writer, I try to get the matches to DC before the Promos are due. Just so that he can post the show on his schedule. Sometimes I'm able to, sometimes I'm not, and for that I apologize. The fuck can I say, I've got a job and three kids and other shit going on, too. My bad. But regardless, I try to get matches done by the Promo Deadline. As such, I'd ask that people refrain from crafting promos that might suggest that their match play out any differently than it is at the beginning of the Promo Thread when announced by DC. By this I mean adding stipulations to the match, deciding on the people involved in the match...things like that. Sorry, but if you decide less than 4 hours before promos come due that you want to radically alter the dynamics of your match for that week, it ain't happening. At that point, I'm not rewriting your match for you. Furthermore, if you have the urge to "radically alter the dynamics of your match" on any given week, I suggest you funnel that through DC in the form of a request. Thank you, that is all. Late.
