Hey I was only 9 the time. But I remember seeing all the WCW stars on WWF in 2001. Lance Strom, Torrie, Booker T, Mike Awesome etc...

I watched WCW/WWF but since I was young I did not know the story lines.

Lol I remember watching Sting wrestle for WCW

It was when WWE bought WCW and a lot of WCW's wrestlers were brought onboard WWE. They had an influx of wrestlers, which is why they created the Invasion storyline so they could do something with all these new wrestlers coming into the company.

It was after Vince McMahon bought WCW.

In storyline, they said Shane bought WCW from under Vince's nose and launched a WCW invasion to destroy WWE (WWF at the time). It escalated when Stephanie bought ECW and allied herself with her brother, and when Stone Cold Steve Austin betrayed the WWE. It went for about 5 months before Team WWE/WWF beat the WCW/ECW alliance at Survivor Series 01. One month later, Chris Jericho unified the WWE Championship and the WCW Championship to become the first Undisputed Champion.

Vince wanted the run WCW vs WWE with fans split down the middle, unfortunately WWE had portrayed WCW as the enemy for so long that all the WCW/ECW talent were booed (with RVD the only exception as i recall)

It could and probably should have been one of the greatest angles in wrestling history but it was completely botched.

The best thing about that time was Austin's heel run. WHAT?
