Default Monday Night Raw: Episode 18: Rate and Review + BQ?

We open with the usual impressive pyro and then go live to ringside. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcome us to Raw and we have a tasty main event in store tonight. CM Punk will face John Cena tonight, live on Raw.

Evolution's music plays and they come out to the ring. Randy Orton gets on the mic. He says that next Sunday, we will see the culmination of what could be the most heated and tense rivalry of all time. He says that he will end the career of The Miz next week at SummerSlam. He says that since The Miz's career will be no more after next Sunday, he is asking that the WWE Championship also be put on the line, because it would be pointless to vacate such a prestigious title again. The Miz's music plays and he comes out to the entrance way. He says that if Orton wants the title at SummerSlam, he will have to win his match tonight. The match will be Orton facing off against John Morrison and Alex Riley in a two on one handicap match. He also says that he has checked with Raw GM Shane McMahon and that Evolution are banned from ringside tonight. If they violate that rule, both Triple H and Batista will be suspended for 90 days. We go to commercials.

Match 1: Ted DiBiase vs Chris Jericho.

Great match to get us started here tonight. They go at each other right from the off, with Jericho taking control eventually. Both men hit some offense on each other and DiBiase builds some momentum, getting himself back into it. The end comes when Jericho locks in the Walls Of Jericho, but Alberto Del Rio comes in and starts assaulting Jericho. The referee calls for the bell. Del Rio is pounding on Y2J and then locks in the arm bar submission hold. Del Rio eventually lets go and we go to commercials.

Match 2: Mason Ryan and Richie Steamboat vs Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury.

Small preview of what will be coming next Sunday. Ryan and Steamboat are representing The New Bloods, whilst Gallows and Mercury are representing the SES. Good back and forth action, but the end comes when Gallows hits Gallows Pole on Ryan and pins him for the victory.

Match 3: Triple H vs Drew McIntyre.

Another great match between these two tonight. They go back and forth throughout, but Triple H eventually makes the breakthrough. He hits the Pedigree on McIntyre around the 8 minute mark and pins him for the deserved victory.

Match 4: The Miz vs Sheamus.

Fairly decent match, most of it takes place outside the ring. Sheamus sends The Miz crashing into the steel steps and The Miz responds by bashing Sheamus head first off of the announce table. The action eventually gets back into the ring and the end comes when Sheamus counters Skull Crushing Finale and hits the Brogue Kick on The Miz. He covers Miz and picks up a hard fought victory.

We go backstage and see Randy Orton in his locker room, getting ready for his match. Josh Mathews appears with a microphone. He asks Randy what his thoughts are on having to go through two men tonight to get a shot at the gold next Sunday. Orton says that he respects the talents of both Riley and Morrison, but nothing will stop him in his quest to take back the WWE Championship. He vows to beat both Riley and Morrison tonight and go on to win back the WWE Championship next week.

Match 5: John Cena vs CM Punk.

Simply great action here, only to be expected from these two. Punk is in control throughout the opening stages of the match and is hitting a lot of offensive moves on Cena, the usual combination of punches, kicks and submission holds that Punk is renowned for. Cena builds some momentum and begins to hit some offense of his own and eventually Cena is on top. The end comes when Cena locks in the STFU, but Punk gets to the ropes. Edge's music plays and he comes out to the entrance way, distracting Cena momentarily. Cena turns around and walks right into a GTS from Punk. Punk pins Cena and picks up the victory, around the 10 minute mark. Punk celebrates after the match and Edge has a smirk on his face as we go to commercials.

Match 6: Randy Orton vs John Morrison and Alex Riley.

Main event time here on Raw. Morrison and Riley take turns at working over Orton and it doesn't look good for his title hopes in the opening stages. He builds a head of steam and fights back against Morrison, hitting some great offense on the US Champion. Riley comes in and tries to subdue Orton, but receives an RKO and the crowd are right behind Orton now. He is stalking Morrison, but all of a sudden, The Miz comes out. Miz punches Morrison lightly in the face and Morrison falls, selling the punch. The ref calls for the bell and Morrison and Riley have won via DQ! Orton is furious and The Miz gets an RKO for his troubles...

Shane McMahon's music plays and he comes out to the entrance ramp. He says that although Evolution were banned from ringside tonight, the same applied for The Miz. He says that due to outside interference in the match, he is overruling the referee's decision. He announces that Randy Orton will now face The Miz at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship! The crowd pop big time and we go off the air.

The Phenomenal Mastermind ? is on a distinguished road

Best Matches:

1) Randy Orton vs John Morrison and Alex Riley

2) Triple H vs. Drew McIntyre

3) Ted DiBiase vs. Chris Jericho

4) John Cena vs. CM Punk

Another Great show.

Overall Card... 9.8/10

I can't wait for SummerSlam and the card looks amazing.

BQ- It was cool. The Mick Foley vs. Ric Flair match was great, The Battle Royal was great and since Kurt Angle won, it was better, The debut of Mickie James was good so it was a cool Impact, but not the best. I would give it a 7/10.
