Matt is probably correct (or the wife should I say). I've never heard her surname said anywhere. I speak a bit of French too, and if it were not pronounced Wah-Lett, it may possibly be more like Wool-Ett, or Wool-Ay (the version I'm leaning a bit towards). A lot of times in French, a t at the end of a word becomes more like ay. There's also similar spellings of her name, except they have an extra te (Ouellette), which may be the ones that give the hard et sound at the end, like Wah-Lett or Wool-Ett.
