Default Which promotion was cornier in the early 90s?

Which of the two major promotions were cornier in the early 90s?

The World Wrestling Federation with:

- Bastion Booger

- BattleKat

- Doink the Clown

- Giant Gonzales

- The Gobledygooker

- The Goon

- Irwin R. Shyster

- Mantaur

- Max Moon

- The Mountie

- Phantasio

- The Red Rooster

- Repo Man

- Dr. Isaac Yankem, DDS (Kane)

- Zeus

OR

World Championship Wrestling with:

- Arachnaman

- Johnny B. Badd

- Big Josh

- The Ding Dongs

- The Dungeon of Doom (which was actually sort of a precursor to the Ministry of Darkness)

- The monster truck match between Hogan and the Giant at Halloween Havoc 1995

- Norman the Lunatic

- Oz (Kevin Nash)

- The Renegade

- The RoboCop pay-per-view (Capital Combat 90: Return of RoboCop)

- The Shockmaster

- The Yeti

BQ: Since WWE is all PG now, should they go back doing more ridiculous, corny, off-the-wall gimmicks like these?

I'm going to say WWF was cornier by the wrestlers you named..but just barely.

Reason: On the WCW side, Johnny B. Badd was an entertaining character and was very good in the ring as well.

On the WWF side, IRS was the best of those, but that character basically sucked, and Rotunda is average in the ring, and not as good as Badd was.

Plus, Dungeon of Doom was lead by Kevin Sullivan, who to me usually played a great character and was a very good playing heel. Also, though the monster truck thing sucked, The Giant was a serious monster in WCW when he was there.

The positives on the WWF side, were that RepoMan I found funny, and Doink The Clown as a heel was actually pretty good. They made him corny when they turned him face.

WWF cornier, but both companies had their share of extremely corny moments.

BQ: Not really, the fans they do have would get turned off by these types of gimmicks..and the fanbase would shrink a lot for the WWE. When these characters started appearing in the WWE back then, that's when the WWF started losing lots of ratings, and WCW had a chance to get ahead of them and make some moves to be able to challenge them on Monday Nights.

I'm telling you right now that WWF was worse because of the year 1995.....where the only bright spot was Bret Hart matches and Summerslam. WCW had a lot of crap....wrestlecrap if you will but at the end of the day it was still a PRO WRESTLING PROMOTION! WCW brought in talent from New Japan with Sonny Ono as the manager and had traditional grudge matches such as WARGAMES to keep the fans entertained. WWF did nothing but throw silly gimmick after silly gimmick wrestler on tv and expect the fans to pay for crap. WWF had no idea how to build up characters or how to get from Point A to Point B.....they just wanted to go to the finish line and forget all the previous steps!
