CORNETTE CHALLENGES RUSSO TO CHARITY FIGHT AT RING ROASTS

Jim Cornette's seemingly endless, diabolical ploy to plague Vince Russo's dreams seems to know no bounds. Earlier in the year, TNA involved local authorities in warning Cornette that he had crossed a line. After some silence, it seems the jabber-jawed Ring of Honor GM has thought of a resolution to this (rather one-sided) war, once and for all.

Cornette has challenged Vince Russo to a fight at the third annual Ring Roasts, which is being held this October 15 at the Crowne Plaza in Monroe, NJ. In a promo released today on the Ring Roasts website (www.ringroasts.com), Cornette offers to donate his end of any purse money to the WHAS Crusade for Children in Louisville, an organization that helps disadvantaged children.

Cornette and Russo worked side-by-side on WWE and TNA?s creative team. Cornette had developed a distaste for Russo, his booking style, and generally anything north of Delaware.

Ring Roasts is an annual comedic tribute co-promoted by Kayfabe Commentaries and Legends of the Ring. Tickets and more information about the roast is available at www.ringroasts.com.

Corny should rest assured that beating up Vince Russo is charity enough.

It is ridiculous and Jim Cornette should just let go of any anger he has toward Vince Russo, he doesn't even work with the man any more, and Vince Russo isn't going to accept any challenge from Jim Cornette, Russo would be a fool to do so, especially with how unstable Cornette can be at times, oh, and one more thing, if Jim Cornette really cared about this Crusade for Children's Charity, he would just donate his money to it, instead of challenging Russo at some sort of charity event!

Jim Cornette has still got it!

Despite the past several years seeing Cornette as a face, and often-times the voice of reason in both TNA and now ROH, he has managed to put Vince RUSSO (of all people!) over as the face in this feud.

Russo, as pretty much everybody knows, has one of the worst reputations in all of wrestling history. He has been called, at various times, the man who killed WCW (he didn't, but that's beside the point) and the man who ruined wrestling (while he was one of the powers that did change the business, he isn't entirely to blame for the state the business is in now). Russo is infamous for his nonsensical logic-defying storylines, for screwing over wrestlers who get on his bad side (apparently easy to do), for putting wrestlers he don't like into career-killing gimmicks and storylines, and he's the only writer/booker (that I've ever seen) who gets audiences chanting his name (Fire Russo! Fire Russo!). Second to only the other Vince (McMahon), Vince Russo is the most notorious real-life heel in the wrestling business (who doesn't wrestle). McMahon has fans, though. Russo does not.

With this one-sided feud Cornette has managed to make RUSSO the face. Amazing! Cornette has bashed Russo (most of it deserved) many times in public and has indeed come off as the bad guy. Strangely, Russo doesn't respond (VERY out-of-character for this egomaniac); it's GOT to be from orders either from his lawyer(s) or from his bosses (Dixie, Hogan, and Bischoff).

Anyway, this would be a great way to end the feud. There is enough heat between Cornette and Russo to make it interesting, the fans would get an entertaining fight (Cornette would make sure of that), and a worthwhile charity would get some much-needed funds.

I hope Russo accepts the challenge.
