One that blows cold air and also puts on quality matches. That's what I call a wrestling fan.

no offense, i love wwe and tna, but im not a wrestling fan. im a sports entertainment fan. real wrestling fans are the ones that watch amateur wrestling.

bq:no, not at all

bq 2: of course there is, a mark is one of those annoying guys who cant even hear the name of the other company, a loyal fan just doesnt want to help the other company buy giving it more views

I would say that a real wrestling fan is someone who enjoys wrestling from all promotions right down to its purest form. So watching only WWE does not make you a real fan as WWE is in the most part very poor wrestling with storylines. ROH is probably the best promotion for true wrestle fans today.

Buying merchandise does not make a wrestling fan at all, it just makes you a walking advertisement sign for the company in question. Going to live events again does not make someone a better wrestling fan but it does show support for the profession and allows it to continue.

As for being loyal to a promotion or being a mark. There is a difference, a mark is a fan who is not associated with a company but puts it above all other promotions with no justifyable reasoning whereas a loyal fan of WWE should acknowledge the ability of other promotions such as TNA/ROH. A mark also believes completely that wrestling is real and that all characters are true in real life, in other words a mark does not understand the kayfabe concept.

Watching or liking wrestling! Just because someone doesn't like ROH or John Cena doesn't mean he isn't a real wrestling fan!

BQ: NO. I have never bought alot of merchandise from any wrestling organization and I have never attended a live event and I am a big wrestling fan.

BQ 2 NO. You support your favorite wrestling promotion because you like them. Supporting WWE, TNA, or any other promotion, like ROH, doesn't make you any less of a wrestling fan.

Someone who's watched it for a long time and knows the difference between fake and real wrestling. Some one who judges a wrestler based on their performance and not their age, race, or sex. Someone who loves the wrestlers for sacrificing their bodies, loves them for bleeding, and sweating.

BQ: Yes it will in a way. It depends if you're buying merchandise and attending the shows because you love it or if you're just being a poser

BQ 2: Yes. Being loyal means you'll always support the wrestling company for what they've done and because you feel like they've done a great job. A mark is someone who overlikes a wrestler/wrestling company and will always overlike them no matter what happens or what they do

There is an understanding as to what is quality entertainment.....now most of the time it is a person who enjoys MATCHES do to the story being told in that very ring. And what is quality you say....well my friend...it is WORKRATE of course. What is good and what is bad is not an opinion it is a fact! It is common sense that certain things are 100% true. Certain things things such as having the CHAMPION being the very best worker in the promotion should be a FACT. Now a REAL FAN would say hey why is that old fart in the main event....he isn't popular anymore and can't do basic moves any more or hey why is that guy getting a major push when the gimmick and his experience level isn't good enough to get over in the first place

A real fan can see beyond the propaganda and hype to see what really is going on......the booker-man has a ego and is playing favorites even though it is hurting the promotion!

......and yes Cena is quality (for sports entertainment) but just has been forced feed very very very bad material.....he doesn't have to be Superman every month and should lose to every now and then and yes the 5 moves of doom is an outdated concept. It makes matches predictable and boring. It might be a good starting point but after 2 years of watching the same exact match.....will bring backlash and hatred.....and no a heel turn can't fix it every time.

A mark takes everything they see on tv and say thank you give me more crap to stuff my face with. Even though the material and skits and segments etc. etc. etc. is so low quality it belongs on public access television or is so dumb down for the idiots that it has no value at all....*cough*short championship title reign*cough*. Really do you need 8 different title switches in 6 months?

...come on now this isn't the Premiership and you don't have to run around town getting drunk while waving your Man U. colors and scarfs.....this is wrestling. What if there is a better team out there but due to your blind loyalty you fail to see it simply because it is different? In wrestling this can be said about the hardcore blood marks who believe that deathmatch style is the best even though none of their stars know how to sell themselves much less the damn match or even a bump.....yeah color is going to solve everything.

Most everyone answered in ways that I would answer, but I'd like to add that if you have a local promotion, like in Minnesota there is the American Wrestling Federation (AWF) (proAWF.com) that uses local talent and trains to be tv worthy, yet also uses proven wrestlers, IE Jerry Lynn, Lenny Lane, Scotty 2 Hotty, and others. You should go to the local high school where they are shooting a match for tv and watch them and also watch them on tv.
