Not necessarily best, doesn't have to be most popular (probably will be) just influenced the most fans other wrestlers.

What that other person said Gorgeous George was and still is the most influential man in the biz, if he wasnt for him we wouldnt be watching wrestling on TV, he basically made TV lol, he is if not the biggest draw in Wrestling History, and also We wouldnt have had Hulk Hogan,Adorable Adrian Adonis, Nature Boy Buddy Rodgers and Ric Flair, Dshing Cody Rhodes, Dusy Rhodes, Goldust, John Cena, Ravishing Rick Rude, Triple H (Connecticut Blue Blood gimmick), etc, if it wasnt for George, we would be stuck today and most of us would have been saying Whats wrestling?

It would probably Hulk Hogan, The Rock and John Cena (whom I hate so much). They appeared in different movies. The Rock being the favorite of some producers, having the most movie appearance.

While Gorgeous George was a true pioneer in the wrestling business, and he DID shatter the mold for what is acceptable in wrestling gimmicks, there is a wrestler much more influential than even Gorgeous George.

Superstar Billy Graham.

The colorful outfits, the bodybuilder's physique (and abuse of steroids), the big mustache/chin whiskers, the shaved head, the punch and kick wrestling style, being a cool heel, and the lyrical promos. There is a little bit of the Superstar in EVERY pro wrestler. Anybody who saw Billy wrestle can see bits and pieces of him in every pro wrestler who came later. Hulk Hogan copied Billy's gimmick. So did Jesse Ventura.

Billy's look was influenced by George. His promos were influenced by Muhammad Ali. He put it all together in an act that has influenced every pro wrestler (in one way or another) who came later.

Billy's act was mostly charisma, look, and promos (his wrestling matches were basically just punching and kicking, nothing special). He helped to usher in the newfangled cool heel thing and was one of the first heels to get cheered over his face opponents.
