Disagree. DX was ruined long before Hornswoggle became their mascot. DX became a joke that would reunite every few months to get a cheap pop and allow Triple H and Shawn Michaels to act like idiots. It cheapened the group and tarnished the name in my opinion. It was a fantastic group in the late nineties and early 2000's but when they just became a tag team it was bad. The only good segment they had was in 2002 when Shawn Michaels returned and Triple H handed him a DX shirt saying that He had an idea. Then Triple H turned on him leading to a great feud and a great match.

The new DX ruined the tag team division multiple times by squashing all other teams and took up too much television time on RAW. So Hornswoggle joining the group was fitting to show what a joke it had become.

Disgaree, DX was over when they joined back in 09. What did Hornswoggle seriously do to ruin DX. Did that funny DX thing with his hands and bite people, how does that ruin one of the best Tag Teams ever?

Disagree

If HornSwoggle would have come in back when they were still a serious tag-team, he would have ruined DX. But by the time he entered the equation DX was already a joke. They were just a promotion for WWE t-shirts and other products. So honestly, from where they were, Hornswoggle helped them. They went from a joke, to an even funnier joke.

Ha I like Candles Answer. Hornswaggle is a Beast. He wasn't even in there really when Shawn Michaels was breaking a part.

Can I respectfully disagree? D-X and all groups for that matter, should never be duplicated, even with the same members years later. D-X in the late 90's was awesome and in 2006, they were also awesome. But, they decided to bring it back which wasn't a smart move, it was a smart move business wise, because Vince knew he would make a couple million before Shawn decided to hang up the boots, but other than that, D-X was reformed last year was a complete joke.

When they reformed from time to time from 2006-2009, it was a success, just for one night, then Vince wanted to bring it back for one more time, which was it's ultimate downfall. We have seen this time and time again with the original ECW as well.

When ECW died, and all trademarks was bought from the World Wrestling Entertainment back in 2004 before any other promotion picked up the trademark, everyone knew ECW was about to come back, we just didn't know when.

Then, in 2006, they tried to bring it back which was pathetic. You cannot bring a success back, especially when the success was in it's prime. ECW, could not have been duplicated and they actually did a pretty good job of it for about a year. Then, Vince McMahon makes himself the championship ruining the brand, and the prestige of the promotion.

So, Hornswoggle didn't ruin D-X, D-X being brought back for business purposes, was the ultimate downfall of D-X. As I said, something successful as D-X, cannot be duplicated.

Disagree.

DX was created in, and FOR, the Attitude Era. They were rude, crude, offensive, and as anti-authority as a pro wrestling stable ever got. And often, VERY funny.

But that adult humor doesn't fit in the PG Era.

Michaels is no longer willing to do the sleazy, sex-related toilet humor, and cruel practical jokes DX was famous for (in the Attitude Era). Triple H has mellowed out, too. The latest incarnation of DX was like making a Jackass show for children. It just didn't work. Michaels and Triple H obviously didn't believe in it, either, and didn't really try very hard, instead relying on DX's reputation to carry them.

Putting Hornswoggle in the group was the WWE's attempt to inject a new dimension, a new layer, to DX. You can't fault Hornswoggle. He brought energy and enthusiasm to the role. But it just didn't work. DX was tired and played out by then.

DX was created for the Attitude Era. It worked then. It doesn't work anymore.
