Default What if Triple H had wrestled in the '80s?

From Fall '99 until his injury in Spring '01, It's hard to argue that Triple H wasn't the top heel in wrestling. I personally don't think it can be done. For as much pissing and moaning as people do about the guy, I think we can all agree that Hunter did earn his run at the top of the company - maybe not the extended one he's had but still, he was The Man for a few years.

And we've all heard the praise Hunter gets for his performance and knowledge of the business from that generation, be it Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Harley Race, Terry Funk, and even non-wrestlers like Jim Ross.

So what if Triple H HAD wrestled in the '80s? He's shown he can get himself over with the crowd and the old boys club seems to have given him their blessing so what kind of success could Triple H have had in the territories and, ultimately, could he have fit in with Vince McMahon's Rock-N-Wrestling era?

Imagine, Steph would only have been a schoolgirl, so she'd have been off-limits.

He would have been retired by now and would have gotten more titles. I also think he would have gone to WCW if he debuted in the WWF in the 80s. We would also seen HHH in his prime vs Hogan in his prime.

There were a lot more Professional Wrestling Promotions in the 1980's, so Triple H could have worked in a number of places, here are a few.

If Triple H had gone to the NWA, he might have been managed by Paul Jones or Gary Hart and might have eventually been managed by James J. Dillon. He would have been a young up and coming heel and might have eventually become a Four Horseman.

If Triple H had gone to the WWF instead, he might have been managed by The Mouth of the Sooth Jimmy Hart or Classy Freddy Blassie. Again, he would have been a young up and coming heel who would have to build a reputation.

If Triple H had gone to World Class Championship Wrestling, he might have been managed by General Skando Akbar or Percy Pringle. he would have been a young up and coming heel who would have to build a reputation.

If Triple H had gone to Championship Wrestling of Florida (CWF) he might have been managed by Sir Oliver Humperdink or Kevin Sullivan. he would have been a young up and coming heel who would have to build a reputation.
