remember of him? If Andre would of beaten Hogan at WM3 would it of meaant that muc in Andre's career in terms of popularity?

Andre at the time was undefeated for I think they said 6 or 7 years. So would it of been just another match won by Andre or would it of meant more than that.It would of made him World Champion but Andre held titles before.

So you would say Hogan needed the title more so than Andre did.

What Legacy did Hogan give Andre? Getting body slammed and buried?

Iron Sheik made Hogan the star he is now.

it meant more for hogan, if andre would have won it would have been just like another undertaker victory at wrestlemania, so when hogan won it would be comparable to beating the undertaker at wrestlemania which would make you get a huge push even if you were already given a push.

Edit: that is true iron sheik made hogan who he is because he was americas hero agianst our enemy iran, but also their mania match hogan vs andre, is often credited as the most famus ever

Andre helped catapult Hogan's career into super stardom! Much like the Undertaker does with new talent today. Andre was in pain and sick during the match and pretty much past his prime. Hogan and Andre were always really good friends and Andre new he could have beaten him just like all the others, but he wanted to give Hogan a huge push so he let him win. As far as Andre's popularity is concerned, He was always going to be remembered! I mean he's the eighth wonder of the world and he had his own legacy.

Hogan needed it more than Andre. Andre was already essentially retired when they asked him to put over Hogan. He was suffering back problems and his body just wasn't fit for wrestling. He could have easily said screw this and left the sport with a pretty good legacy. He was the first internationally recognized superstar, and was WAY before Hogan came along. Hogan slamming and pinning Andre was a passing of the guard (a gesture Hogan's yet to make for the business that has made him famous).

Without Andre, Hogan would probably have still became a household name at the expense of some other legacy, but without Hogan, Andre could have left the wrestling world on top, and the fact that he didn't, and we're still talking about him to this day says he didn't need to.
