Default Who Would You Say Is The Greatest Wrestler Never To Hold A World Championship?

In 2006, Rob Van Dam was said by many to be the greatest wrestler ever to never hold at least one World Championship. Since he accomplished that feat at One Night Stand that year, who would you say is the greatest wrestler of all time that never held a World Championship. It can be from the Independent Circuit or Mainstream.

Jake Roberts

He could have been just as big as Hogan if WWE had wanted to market him right.

Jake The Snake Roberts

Mr. Perfect

Jake The Snake Roberts- The creator of the DDT, and one of Taker's Wrestlemania victims, was always known for his extensive ring psychology. Robert's promos were chilling to watch because he displayed that dark charisma. He's had feuds with Andre The Giant, Ted Dibase, and the Macho Man. I've heard in countless interviews(like Jim Ross in Beyond The Mat) that Roberts' ring psychology was so good, he could have been a lot more than he was in his prime. He was also a huge fan favorite and was one of the best heels and faces at the time. He wasn't the best technical wrestler, but he was one of those smart wrestlers who would work one body part and work it for most of the match. He was just a great entertainer and could really cut great promos and have good feuds.Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig- He never held a World Title, but he held the intercontinental title like a World Champ. He was truly one of the greatest in-ring performers ever, not just the best to never hold a world title. He had great character too. His voice was so recognizable and he was even a ring announcer for a while in both the WWF and WCW. He was one of the most hated heels and because he had the snobby type of gimmick, that let you know that he was better than you ever will be. And his gimmick made you think he was great at everything, and he really was. He was a great man outside of the ring too apparently. But he had one of the best gimmicks, some of the best promos, and was one of the greatest wrestlers ever... It was a waste to not let him be World Champion.

Scott Hall was also one of the best to never hold a major World Title, even though he held a few with no real meaning to them. He seemed to always be held back by something. In WWF- Shawn Michaels. In WCW- Hogan and other nWo members. Anywhere else- alcohol and other drugs.

Edit: lol, Sorry Undead. Thanks for the compliment You have a nice answer too.

William Regal.

I may get thumbs down for this because people don't think he is a good wrestler. People think that because he is the most underrated superstars of all time. In his prime, he was almost a good as Bryan Danielson is now. People don't see his incredible technical ability because WWE constantly fails to use wrestlers to their full potential. There are a number of WWE/WWF/and WCW superstars that deserved a world title, but I think William Regal was always the most honorable. Months back he had an ECW Title match with Christian, it was definitely between a 4-5 star match. William Regal will never be recognized for his true abilities in the ring. It sucks to know that Randy Orton and John Cena are leading the company, meanwhile one of WWE's best wrestlers of the roster is being constantly buried. It sucks because William Regal has more talent then Randy Orton and John Cena combined.

EDIT: Thanks to WolfPac's answer, by chances of getting BA are between 0 and 0.01...haha

Also @Punk French Girl

DAMN! Thats the best answer I've ever seen you give, keep up the good work.

Matt Hardy

the feud between Matt and Drew:

The feud between Matt Hardy and Drew Mcintyre delivered a nasty stomp to Matt Hardy's head while he was prone on the ring steps.

Drew helped push his heel character with this move, while it helped Matt Hardy's never say die attitude....

Matt has been in a bit of a slump for a few months now, but it appears the feud with Drew Mcintyre may bring him back into the title hunt for Drew's IC title.

The IC title is one of the few titles Matt Hardy has yet to hold in the WWE

(Matt still didn't get the chance to win the IC championship)

lots of great feuds he had...for example his feud with Edge or his heel turn and feud with his brother Jeff.

he did win championships but not the World heavywieght champion...and hopefully that will happen at MITB....

@the undead titan: O MY GOSH annwww really? well...yea, i'm workin on giving long good answers...thanks!
