Could it be said that Bad News Brown was truly ahead of his time? He wrestled in the WWF in the late 1980's until 1990 when he was released after Summer Slam 1990. He feuded with Jake the Snake Roberts and Rowdy Roddy Piper during his stint. Brown was a loner whose mannerisms and style of a shaved head, black boots, tights and wristbands and it could be said Brown was an inspiration for the Stone Cold Steve Austin character of the WWF Attitude Era of the late 1990's. Brown was a heel who sometimes did not get along with other heels and had a Harlem, street tough image and a Don't-Trust-Anyone character about him.

THE BOTTOM LINE!!! is on a distinguished road

In a way he was. I don't know if he was an inspiration for Stone Cold, but he might've been ahead of his time in a way.

I say in a way, because he brought that toughness in a character that wasn't seen often in a wrestler as far as realism goes in wrestling..a toughness that wasn't brought into wrestling overall until the Attitude Era and in the original ECW.

But in a way he also fit an aspect that was going on during that time in the late 80's...with the black glove, and the whole pro-black thing going on during the late 80's into the early 90's. With the likes of Public Enemy, the rap group, and many other rappers bringing that into the Hip Hop scene and making a big impact, bringing forth the stuff going on in the streets of the ghettos during that time.

Bad News Brown was a character that came from that era, and a character that brought all of that stuff during that time into wrestling. It wasn't done often, because hip hop in general, and the things going on in the ghettos wasn't as popular yet as it became later on in the 90's, through hip hop music and in movies, also in TV sitcoms.

Bad News Brown was pro-black and brought forth what was popular in the hoods and hip hop, before it became popular and more known in the that was very unique in a sense, that he brought in more realism into his character during the late 80's something that wasn't done as regularly in wrestling during that time..especially the WWF.

So in a sense he was ahead of his time, because the realism factor wasn't brought into wrestling characters, specifically the WWF, until the late 90's.

Did he influence anybody, I don't know, but he was definitely ahead of his time from that standpoint. He was what the Nation of Domination was almost a decade before the Nation of Domination was put together.
