Default The WWE Champ title belt has Cena's name on it right now?

Sheamus just held it up, and I could swear the nameplate (still?) said John Cena. Is this because the title changed hands just last night and they didn't get a chance to switch the nameplate out, or is this because he'll win the title back in a few minutes?

BQ: With the exception of the night Swagger was running around with the belt he stole from Jericho, do you remember seeing another's name on the belt of the current champ?

@Rock: It's a friggin' commercial. lol

@Jbunit...cool, thank you

@ the one that says there's no name on it, I'll watch the Saturday night replay on DirecTV but I could swear I just saw Cena's name on the belt (and I'm watching on a 52 inch HD)

@Luke Digital Dead...cool, thanks. Again, I've never noticed except the obvious Swagger night. Maybe I shouldn't watch w/my contacts in my head. lol

@Justin...the end of the match will tell when the belt gets held up..unless the screen fades to black like the last couple weeks.

it usually takes a day or two to swap out the name plate -- I'm pretty sure there was a time that after Batista Won and it still had HHH's name on it

from what I understand each guy gets a 'trophy belt' that they can keep in their home forever and ever and they have the prop belt that they use for on camera that (at least in the past) the champion travels with

one thing to consider is that they are up in New England this week, and Cena has been pushing to get a belt with a new design (there was a rumor of a re-design last summer) add that to Cena having used his rematch, and Sheamus being champ that now is the perfect time to change the strap-- so they didn't bother changing the plate, as they'll soon change the belt

It doesnt say John Cena, it says Sheamus, it was very noticeable at the beginning of the show, but trust me, it wouldnt surprise me if it still had Cenas name on it.

It should say Sheamus on the WWE Championship. The Rock did something like

that back in 1999 Stone Cold Steve Austin was the champion and The Rock stole

his belt and would appear with the belt on his shoulder on Monday Night Raw back

then Stone Cold had his own customized championship belt The Austin Smoking

Skull belt and I remember even after that The Rock threw Austin's belt in the River.

BQ Yes, back in January 2006. Batista had relinquished his World Heavyweight

Championship due to an Injury he suffered he could no longer defend the belt and

he needed to leave for a few months and get surgery. So, that night on Smackdown

they held a special 20 Man Battle Royal over the top rope where Kurt Angle made a

surprise appearance since he part of Raw not Smackdown. Kurt Angle eliminated a

lot of the competitors in the match and when he won the belt the nameplate did say

BATISTA since he had just given up the belt earlier that evening to GM Teddy Long

so Kurt Angle did win the Battle Royal when he eliminated Mark Henry at the end of

the match and again when he stood up on the ropes to hold up the belt Batista was

the name on the actual World Heavyweight Championship match took place in 2006.
