I mean before the matches just took place without a GM.They had Jack Tunney play the president part for awhile but he only showed up on TV about once a year.Vince was always doing broadcasting and was hardly refered to as the chairman on television until he assumed the Mr Mcmahon gimmick.the wrestlers used to just make the challenge and then it was put just put on the ppv card.

right it is just an on air mouth piece for the writers and bookers and whoever makes the matches. So is it even needed for pro wrestling?

Im ok with the guest host thing aslong as they know about the show their on.Soe did ok.I mean before that i had to get throw the lawrence taylor and bam bam thing.the Mr T stuff and other celebrity type things and they was just as bad.

Why not rely on the announce teams to get them over.Thats the way it was done with monsoon and ventura, heenan.Even in WCW before the NWO they relied on their announcers to get the young guys over.

Yes, especially in WWE, the guest host thing has gotten completely lame and they just need to stop signing them but the matches are already made the GM just announces them so really neither is needed.

It makes for a more interesting time in the WWE especially when you get former wrestlers to take that job of commissioner/gm like Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, etc. And I know I enjoyed when that big breasted hottie Stephanie McMahon ran the show

No I don't think a GM is necessary because its been done so many times now. RAW for some reason can not find a long term GM. SmackDown! had Theodore Long for a while but now it appears he is gone, and Vickie was it also for a while too. Watch her end becoming the SD! GM again....

It does depend who we're talking about as GM. Teddy Long? I could care less. They could've picked any one to be his role. But having someone like Bret Hart makes it a bit better since Bret can get over talent, such as the Uso's agaisnt the Hart Dynasty.

Because the GMs are little babies whose job it is to get kick around and be losers.

I think it's necessary, it brings more entertaining into the show. Bret Hart is the current GM of RAW and i would rather have him in the company rather than not having in the company.

THE ONLY GM THAT HAD ANY REAL POWER WAS STEPHANIE MCMAHON FOR OBVIOUS REASONS, AND MAYBE PAUL HEYMAN WHO WAS ON THE BOOKING TEAM, BUT OTHER THAN THOSE TWO, THE REST HAVE ALL BEEN MOUTPEICES FOR THE BOOKERS AND WRITERS
