Don't try out. You'ree probably a weakling and will just make a bigger fool of yourself. Please don't. For the sake of your own embarrassment.

In highschool wrestling, you can't punch, jump off turnbuckles, or hit people with chairs. Oh yeah, and no low-blowing the referee. Thats all you need to know.

Don't do it bro. You will have to starve yourself to make a lower weight and at your age that is going to stunt your growth and it will affect you the rest of your life. I'm telling you its not worth it.

Why can't you be a normal kid and join the football or basketball team? *sigh* kids these days...

dont listen to people saying that you are going to starve yourself. That is only up to you if you get really into it and become super competitive. instead jst try to take wrestling lessons. Even a martial art like judo orbjj would help you with the grappling aspect. Obviously you will need to learn the rules.

- no punching/kicking

- a pin is a win

There are a bit of rules but mainly I would suggest getting into good shape. Our schools wrestling teams works things like pushups into no tommorow. This will help your coach recognize you getting into god shape.

Good Luck!

Don't fret about it too much. The rules are fairly simple. Odds are that you are probably not the only one that wants to try out that doesn't know much about the rules. As the other said, you want to ignore professional wrestling here. For the best information, you should probably contact the coach at your high school. There may be summer workouts as well, so find out about them and try and attend as many as you can.
