records in the Honbasho? Well, this could include your personal favorite, in my case it's Baruto, but this question is more directed on the sumo wrestler/s who have the best personal records in winning grand championships. Thanks.

Your question is quite interesting although a little vague. Anyway, my favorite sumo wrestler is the great Mongolian yokozuna Asashoryu you had recently retired at 29 years old. But among the best win records in the Grand Sumo Championship Tournaments or Honbasho, these are the great rikishi or wrestler who garnered the best performances in terms of winning the sumo grand tournaments as follow:

Taiho - 32 Championship Trophies

Chiyonufuji - 31

Asashoryu - 25

Kitanoumi - 24

Takanohana - 22

Hakuho - 14

Akebono - 11

If Asashoryu did not retire, he could possibly have equalled the record of Taiho at 32 championship trophies, but this is all academic now and his record is only 25.

Wish you luck.
