Default How did Cena become so popular with kids in so short time?

I watched Cena debut in 2002 and watched him go from the new guy, to the rapper gimmick, to US champion, to his first WWE Title reign in merely 3 years.

But in 2006, I got bored with wrestling for a while and stopped watching for 3 more years. I start watching it again, and he's got the same level of charisma as Hogan does, with Cena being the main face of WWE. How did he become so popular with kids in particular? When I watched him in his young days, kids weren't so jumpy then when he was face.

I know he does a lot of stuff for Make-a-Wish Foundation and I respect that.

Just take a look at the guy. It's not hard to imagine why kids would think that's cool. He panders to them constantly has catchphrases and merchandise and raps, he is like a thug Ronald Mcdonald.
