Default was the montreal screwjob scripted?

was it in the story line that vince would screw bret, or was it for real that vince betrayed him. I heard that in the real story line bret was suppose to win? but vince betrayed him in the last minute.. is this true that bret was really pissed at vince in real life?

It was real. In the original script when Shawn put on the sharpshooter Bret was supposed to reverse it and the hart foundation and DX would come out and cause a big Double DQ. Bret was leaving for WCW but didn't want to drop the title in Canada, and Vince didn't want Bret taking it to WCW and doing with it what Medusa did with the women's title. which is throwing it in the trash can on an episode of Nitro. So he got with Shawn and the referee Earl Hebner in private and made the plan, and lied to Bret about it. Afterwards Bret went to his locker room and told Vince I'm taking a shower, if you're still here when I get out I'm gonna punch you. And when Bret got out Vince was still there so he knocked Vince out. Over the years Bret has come to realize it was business and has forgiven Vince and Shawn both. He actually held a longer grudge against Shawn cause Shawn looked him the eye in the locker room afterwards and said he knew nothing about this.

Bret refused to drop the title in Canada, but Vince couldn't have Bret leave for WCW still the WWF champion. Bret suggested coming on Raw the next night and handing over the belt before leaving for WCW, but that would have made Vince and the WWF look weak. So, Vince had no choice.

Shawn was told about it a little beforehand, he wasn't for it, but he knew it had to be done.

The situation was not scripted.

It's very likely.

After all,it explains how Bret Hart got his cameras backstage to shoot footage for his DVD Wrestling with Shadows.
