Seriously, what was the purpose. He had it going great with that gimmick and then he americanized his voice and starts dressing in African colors now. I was disappointed.

BQ: Why did he drop the gimmick?

Because people didn't like how he was born in Ghana, but billed as a Jamaican superstar, they thought he would be better representing his own country, and he's gotten a bigger push ever since

Because his real name is Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah and his family is from Ghana, a country in West Africa. Smart Professional Wrestling Fans went to the Internet and figuresd this out shortly after he made his debut in the WWE and there were articles in newspapers in the United States and in Africa asking why Kofi was pretending to be from Jamaica when he was from Ghana.
